    1. In this book, McNeill tells the story of the siege of an imperial fortress by Chaos forces. This is a rare example of a Warhammer 40000 story in which you will actually improve your education: the author describes exactly how city sieges were conducted in the 17th century. You will not look at the famous military architect Vauban's fortifications the same way afterwards. The author tells the story very well, giving a balanced account of each opponent, so that the reader is never sure who will win [...]

    2. Warhammer is a favorite of my husband and several of his friends. I can never go wrong picking him up a new book.

    3. I'm a big fan of WH40K universe since second edition, when Chaos was soooo cheesy that sometimes could be boring play with them and pointless against them. and of course I always love Black Legion and Iron Warriors.I always play and sometimes I enjoy the fluff inside the codices and rulebooks, but my English is really poor so, I just bought everything in spanish. I could note that Black Library doesn't publish anything in spanish so, I never look for any BL material. I couldn't remember with whi [...]

    4. Would very much like a second book that follows the Iron Warriors story line after this book the way the Ultramarine books did.

    5. This book absolutely blew me away! Finally a story where the good guys don't get their 'happy ever after'. This story is action-packed from begining to end. Never a dull moment, and it offers some truly insightful looks at the Iron Warriors Space Marine Chapter. This book has everything you could want in a 40K Novel. Great Characters, awesome battles, and very, very cool plot-lines. The story telling is soo good in this one, that while reading about a Plasma Weapon's use burned off my beard! [...]

    6. The first Warhammer40k book I read this book pulls you into the trenches alongside the Iron warriors, you will not want to put this book down.
