    3. There is a lot in this book, but sifting through it to extract the useful information from the somewhat poor writing style is a tedious exercise. I give this 4 stars just because of the amount of resources it has pointed me to.

There are a lot of JavaScript books out there that we should all be warned against, but this one, written by a Google guy, is a good one to get, partly because he recognizes the value of lessons about JavaScript and its use as a true programming language by Douglas Crockford who is a widely respected JavaScript expert.I found this book because I watched a Google talk from April 2013 where the author Mark Trostler spent about 45 minutes discussing ways to use JavaScript in an Object-Oriented and [...]

If you're looking for an overview of testing methods, methodology and tools for both client and server side JavaScript, you can't go wrong with this book.My only gripe is the slight overuse of the YUI library for the examples, but the principles are still applicable to other libraries and tools (which are also looked at), so don't let that deter you from looking at this book.
