    1. This story centres on the Silver Jubilee when Jessamay disappears from the celebrations. We see what impact this has on her mother, her father had died 5 years previously, and her cousin Rachel who visited during holidays and for occasional weekends. The story is told in the main through Rachel and Evie's (Jessamay's mother) eyes with snapshots including the coronation and the Golden Jubilee. The other entries are extracts from Evie's brother-in-laws unsent letters home from a POW camp. The story [...]

    2. I was debating whether to award this book 4 or 5 stars - it is a very powerful story, well told, with four main time-frames, which are interwoven in such a way that the past is gradually revealed to the main character, and the past and present echo and resonate with each other and with the two families involved. Characters are clearly and deftly portrayed, and through Rachel's involvement with them spring to life. Letters are scattered through the tale, and help to reveal other aspects of the ch [...]

    3. enjoyable easy read about disappearance of a young child in 1977 , pow camp in thailand 1943 and the golden jubilee in 2002 and the story goes back and forth which are interlinked in the plotline but in parts felt was abit far fetched that the police didnt investigate jess's disapperance more. can understand if your reading this on a kindle that you would have problems with the changes in the timeline of the plot

    4. Jubilee tells the story of a child's disappearance during a silver Jubilee party. It is a moving tale of how he family, particularly her cousin, cope with this traumatic event. But it is more than that - it is a mystery that unfolds gradually, and harrowing account of the effects of war on an individual's sanity. Couldn't put it down once I'd started it.

    5. This is first novel Ive read by this author and wont be my last. Set near Oxford I liked the way the story moved between the past and 2003 in a way that was easy to follow. The characters were interesting and I got hooked into the story quickly. There is a sad heart to the story of a missing child and the pain that causes her family. I still really liked this book though. The twist when it came was unexpected I so didn't see it coming and was glad for this. I just didnt want it to end. Highly re [...]

    6. A beautifully written story.I loved this book. The tale takes you through time and makes you really care about the characters. Very clear writing. I will be reading more books from this author in 2017/

Rachel und ihre Tante Evie hatten Jess nur für eine Minute aus den Augen gelassen und sie ist nicht wieder aufgetaucht.Gerade ist das goldene Thronjubiläum um, da stirbt überraschend Evie. 9. After reading and loving the first two Eliza Graham novels -- Playing with the Moon and Restitution -- I was eagerly looking forward to another mystery with the backdrop of the War and I think she has once again come up with another excellent and compelling story! The story starts with the now grown up Rachel reminiscing about the day of the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977 when she was aged 9 and her 10 year old cousin Jessamy seemingly vanished off the face of the earth, there were no signs of a [...]

    10. I won this on the giveaway so I put it to the top of my TBR pile and I am so pleased I did. For a start it was exactly the length of book I like around 320 pages and what a enthralling read. The story pulls together a child going missing, the atrocity of war and of unrequited love. The story is told through chapters in the present and at other times since the war however the chapters are clearly headed so there is no re-reading required to find out what time zone you are reading about! A great [...]

    13. The idea behind Jubilee is an interesting one and I certainly wanted to know what happened to the characters. However, I didn't care for the author's decision to split the book into so many different periods of time. I can appreciate that it was a method that enabled all the pieces to eventually fall into place, but I did feel somewhat confused and slightly irritated by it at times. I do wonder if the story could have been told as a straightforward mystery; maybe not completely, but with fewer t [...]

    14. I know Eliza Graham; her children used to go to the same school as my son. I read and loved her first book, Playing with the Moon, so was very keen to read this, her third novel, and it didn't disappoint.Jubilee is set in a fictional village in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire, and revolves around events that happend at the Queens Silver Jubilee party in 1977. It's olne of those stories where lives are intertwined and events from the past come to have a bearing on the present. I thorough [...]

    15. This was the perfect book to seclude myself with on one of the first decent days of summer; I love a story involving family dramas and mysteries spanning several generations. Once I'd started I had to read to the end to find out exactly what had happened in the past.I like the way Eliza Graham has used memories: glimpses of the past that show things half seen or heard that lead to misunderstandings. I also liked the details that triggered those memories, not all relevant to the plot but colourin [...]

    16. Ok I picked this up at my local supermarket and thought this would be perfect to read during the Jubilee weekend. And my thoughts about this book was excellent, I loved how the writing was flowing, and the plot was fantastic. Eliza Graham invests the characters and the settings with a real warmth and humanity to create an emotionally powerful, but also uplifting novel. The narrative moves across different generations and characters, She has a talent for keeping the story flowing while switching [...]

    17. During a celebration party for the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977, ten year old Jessamy goes missing. What follows, is the heart wrenching story, told through several characters in the past and present, in which we eventually learn of Jessamy's fate. The book is rich in detail of the area it is based and of life during the war, and the characters were well rounded and believable. Looking forward to reading more of Eliza Graham's books.

    18. I won this as part of the First Reads program.A wonderful mix of suspense, mystery and a family's history, this would be a great book to take away on holiday. I love how the story flips between the past and present and slowly starts to uncover the explanations behind the disappearance of 10 year-old Jessamy Winter many years ago. Some of the plot lines were a little predictable, but others came as a welcome suprise and had me turning pages.

    19. I put this aside to read on Diamond Jubilee day and it was a great read for a rainy afternoon. I grew up in the Vale of the White Horse where this book is set and that was part of the appeal for me. The plot is a little predictable but it's well written and the characters are engaging. I remember those villages as being very tightly knit and she does a good job of bringing that to life.

    21. I really enjoyed this, only marked it down a star as found some of it a bit far fetched but otherwise it was fast paced, interesting and well written - it kept me wanting to read on, hence the super quick time in which I finshed it

    22. I was a bit confused with the story to start with as the writer goes back and forth in time. Once the characters became clear to me I was able to adjust to the concept of what was happening within this tale of jealousy and betrayal. A nice read but a little predictive towards the end.

    23. Set in the Berkshire Downs at the time of the Queen's Silver Jubilee this is actually a book about loss and family secrets that bubble to the surface.
