    1. Young Rebecca, the protagonist, struggles with her food. Her world of anorexia has been going on for a while when the book starts, but it seems to have been going on for a year previous. It seems to be rooted in a desire for her parents to notice her- neither her mother or father seem to be interested. This isn't too bad a book. It deals with anorexia (and other eating disorders, though primarily bulimia) in a way that fourteen-year-old girls could comprehend. It suggests reasons behind it, but i [...]

    3. I read this when I was around the same age as the main character. I always remember this book, and to me, it was amazing. I'd always thought it was by another author for some reason, until I came across it in my bookshelf the other day. Great book. Probably not ideal for a young teenage girl to read about, because it is quite descriptive, and poses a potential threat of "how to". I still thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down when I was younger.

    4. I read so many Maureen Stewart books growing up and now, so many of them are not as memorable as I'd like - but I think I recall this being one of the better ones.

    5. The first time I read the book I must have been about fifteen. I never liked this book very much, but I was in the same situation as Rebecca. My best friend told a very good kept secret of mine in the class and I was the psychotic b**ch of the school. I was always about to become anorexic but somehow I made it. Now with 25 I read it one again and I don't like Rebeccas attitude at all. Whether I don't like the style of the book. The whole anorexia was just superficial and did not cut deep at all. [...]

    8. It deals with eating disorders, but not very well. I liked that it addressed that not every ED is triggered by some dramatic event, but that was the only thing.
