        Branko opi Cyrillic January 1, 1915 March 26, 1984 was a Yugoslav writer He was born in the village of Ha ani near Bosanska Krupa He attended schools in Biha , Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Karlovac before moving to Belgrade to study philosophy at the University of Belgrade until his graduation in 1940.Upon the uprising in the Bosanska Krajina in 1941, he joined the Partizans and remained in their ranks until the end of World War II That period of his life influenced much of his literary work as can be seen by the themes he later writes about Athe the end of the war he returned to Belgrade where he was, until 1949, the director of a children s magazine called Pioniri From 1951 until his death he was a professional writer.His books have been translated into Albanian, Czech, English, Dutch, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Polish, Romanian, Turkish, Slovak, German, French, and Russian, and some of them have been turned into TV series and feature films.He committed suicide on March 26, 1984 in Belgrade by jumping off of Branko s Bridge named after Branko Radi evi into the Sava river.

    1. The book of my childhood! I read it several times and enjoyed every single word of it. I'm sure it has a special sentimental value for several generations who very lucky to be kids and teenagers in 1980's, in ex-Yugoslavia


    2. Smeh i prizivanje detinjstva. U mojoj osnovnoj školi morao si imati srebrnu čitalačku značku da bi je čitao, a ja sam te godine zakasnila sa orijavom. Nisam se smirila dok je nisam kupila :)



    3. Najbolja dječija knjiga ikada pročitana, a čitana je opet i opet i opet. :) Puna je smijeha, radosti, nestašluka i svega onoga što jedno dijete treba da prođe tokom odrastanja. A možda i malo više. :)


    4. Jednostavnost izraza i stila. Lakoca sa kojom se Copic krece kroz svaki svoj roman, zbirku ili pripovijetku je zadivljujuca. Svaka recenica pored sve te jednostavnosti odise dubokom i iskrenom emocijom. Divna knjiga o prijateljstvu, a povrh svega o odrastanju.
