    1. This is possibly one of my favourite books. My dad bought it when I was younger, specifically for one story, 'The Brownie of Bladnoch', because we live on a farm where the Broonie supposedly worked for a while. Temperley is a fantastic storyteller. He engages well with the Gallovidian landscape, and has selected a good range of local legends and folk tales, as well as re-writing some better known stories, like Sawney Bean, in a fluid, enchanting style which is accessible for readers of all ages.     2. I love stories. I like to read them and then make them mine, telling them to friends and family. That's how stories used to be told, and I think that I might like, someday, to become a professional story-teller. This is a collection of fifty-one tales. Tales of Galloway is without a doubt, my favourite book in the world and means so much to me, as i grew up and still live near Galloway in Scotland. I even have a large tattoo designed to dedicate my lifelong love for the wonderful characters found within the pages of this magical book. If you love beautiful folklore, this is one for you!
