    1. This book is probably the best biography of Linus Pauling. I opened the book a very late time at night and I just couldn't stop reading it until I finished and I wish it had not finished. Such an amazing storytelling. I knew a lot about his life even before reading the book, but I still learned a lot. I knew he had trouble with government but I did not know that FBI investigated him for 24 years and some of the funding agencies cut his research funding. He had really hard time finding a place to [...]

    2. Simply Amazing!Linus Pauling is a man whose brilliance, ingenuity and principle cannot be matched. No wonder this miracle of a man won not one but two unshared Nobel prizes, one for Chemistry in 1954 and one for Peace in 1962.He has shown the ultimate dedication of a true scientist to the truth and towards ethical usage of science and technology. He exemplifies both a scientist and a humanist.Thomas Hager has done an amazing job of bringing out the various aspects of Pauling's life.

    3. Linus Pauling is the only Nobel prize winner to win two prizes by himself. A remarkable man, a great scientist, and a greater chemist, he pioneered the entire protein chemistry field by learning how he could break down the protein without destroying the molecule. As with most extremely professional pioneers, Linus was sometimes accused of neglecting time with his family in order to pursue his scientific interests.
