This book has an interesting opening: our prospective hero is kicked out of West Point (the US Military Academy).Now, the interesting side story to this is that Pease taught at a school nearby, Vassar. It is amusing to note that Pease, an action writer for boys and men taught at a preeminent women's school for a year.To bump that up a notch, Pease served as chaperone to the women who went to dances at West Point.     3. loved this book, which was taken from my grandfather's collection. Very swashbuckling, real boy's novel. The tattooed captain, Tom Jarvis is marvelous, and the plots are so much fun.
