unrelated There is one highly entertaining crossover character, but other then that none of the characters or countries from the previous books make an appearance Deepest Blue takes place in an island nation, where a unique situation has led to an imbalance of power between the Queen and the nobles In this country it is no Electronic ARC provided by Edelweiss The Deepest Blue takes place in the same world as the previous Renthia trilogy, but far enough away that it is pretty much completely unrelated There is one highly entertaining crossover character, but other then that none of the characters or countries from the previous books make an appearance Deepest Blue takes place in an island nation, where a unique situation has led to an imbalance of power between the Queen and the nobles In this country it is not at all desirable to be a potential heir, and our main character has spent her whole life hiding her gifts, until a spirit storm threatens her village and forces her hand This book contains political intrigue, family relationships, female friendships, mature stable romance, and a hunger games style battle of survival If you liked the previous Queens of Renthia books then you will almost certainly enjoy this one, and if you haven t read the previous books then I think that this stands alone enough that new readers won t be totally lost flag Like see review
