    1. Witty, raw, real, refreshingly honest, and oh so touching! This is so much more than a tell all book. Gaines is well known on HGTV's Fixer Upper he's known as a funny goofy guy. But this book shows us the real Gaines. He is a very positive God fearing man. His outlook on life is not what you would think after watching him on TV every week. I found so many little bits of information that made me love him and Jo Jo so much more. I will share one big one with you his work ethic is above and beyond an [...]

    2. It felt like I was reading The Magnolia Story all over again but just from his point of view. I found it boring and draggy. Love the Gaines but could've done without this book.

    3. If you're a fan of Fixer Upper (and who isn't, right?) you are abundantly familiar with Chip Gaines. He's one half of the successful duo of Chip and Joanna Gaines of Waco, Texas, who have taken their love of home renovation and decorating to the masses on HGTV. This book is about Chip's beginnings and how he started out in business, met and married Joanna, and ended up with a TV show and successful interior decorating business. But it's also about how Chip made a lot of mistakes along the way an [...]

    4. I didn’t love it. There are a lot of great stories and a lot of great lessons in this book but it seems as though Chip was trying to throw everyone cliche “life lesson” at you and convince you to be a great person by doing everything differently. I think I would have liked it if the book was focused on ra couple of life lessons rather than 10-12. Each chapter was something new and felt separate from the previous chapter.

    5. The title doesn’t let you know what your going to read about but I am very glad that I read it. A bit of a brag book but challenges the reader to step up and do something that you are really passionate about and that will possibly be of value to others.

    6. The world needs more Chip Gaines.I rate the book 4 stars, but Chip is a 5 star guyChip’s humility, sincerity and drive to make the world a better place is inspiring. I’m encouraged to know that there are men in the public eye with a Chip’s character, intentionality and leadership.Highly recommend!

    7. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was a bit apprehensive, as I expected it to be a lot of repeat stufffrom the Magnolia Story. But it wasn't. I also figured out why Joanna fell in love with him. He's got a lot of common sense and a heart of gold. Love their moral compasses and their desire to do as much good in the world while they're here. And I believe they single handedly put Waco back on the map in a very good way, after the Branch Davidian Episode with Janet Reno and Bill Clinton decades ag [...]

    8. Enjoyed this book more than their first. I listened to this one rather than read it just to get the full Chip Gaines effect. He's a hoot. :D You get the scoop on the beard, their quitting fixer upper and Chip's philosophy on how he lives life. And there's no doubt Chip truly loves his family first and foremost. I liked the deep appreciation he has for their employees. Magnolia Market is one enormous machine. The story is concluded with a few employees relating what it's like to work for Chip. LO [...]

    9. 3.5 A really nice, light and inspiring read. He makes having vision, dreams and goals not only seem as if they are attainable, but also as if you truly owe it to yourself and the world to act on them. He makes you WANT to go for it!I do think that it changed direction somewhere in the middle. It started out being about things he’d learned from past mistakes and then kinda turned into just listening to him talk about his life and what he wants out of it. I still enjoyed it, I just think it kind [...]

    10. I love the Gaines clan. From their irresistible show "Fixer Upper" to their growing Magnolia empire, this reality-show couple is one of the few tv celebs that seem like actual people. This new release is perfect for readers who enjoyed their previous book The Magnolia Story, this time delving more into Chip Gaines' background, upbringing and the lessons he's learned along the way. While he might be a goof on TV, it's easy to see this guy has a good head on his shoulders, and is a very smart busi [...]

    11. Chip and Johanna Gaines have come a long long way in such a short time. This larakin - Chip Gains, well you wouldn't think - if you just watched him on Fixer Upper - that he is such an intelligent and knowledgable man. I truly enjoyed this book. I read their first book and it was great having that background knowledge before reading Capital Gaines. Chip talks in this book. Really talks. It's not like he is writing, it's just like you are having a conversation with him, the writing just flows. He [...]

    12. I really enjoyed reading Chop and Johanna Gaines first book "The Magnolia Story." I felt that book was really inspiring to hear how the couple started off in their relationship and marriage. It is amazing how God has done some great things in their lives. If you haven't read that book, I highly recommend it. This latest book by Chip is fantastic! Why? Because we really get to hear a lot from Chip. He talks a lot about himself and finally, we hear from the man who has these great goals, dreams an [...]

    13. There are so many examples about his life and living life to your fullest, but also the importance of being a productive adult. Mostly his advice is to jump in! He tells some pretty funny stories on himself. I like his honesty on life, marriage, success and lots more. I appreciate the work-life experiences from people who worked for him. I’m also listening to The Vanishing American Adult and I think Chip and Ben Sasse would have a lot in common. I really appreciate him being thankful for and h [...]

    14. Fun, fascinating, and easy read about Chip the man and how he became by hard work, following his dreams, and being willing to face risk and failure. His enthusiasm is infectious. Have read Magnolia Story and have enjoyed watching "Fixer Upper." Interesting to see Chip and Joanna at a crossroads, setting the show aside, and practicing what Chip preaches in this book ("We can do two things well. We can't do three.")

    15. Ok I love Chip and Joanna. Love their show, their family and their all around goodness. Chip's book is definitely an extension of this goodness. What a guy! I sure wish there were more people in the world like Chip and Joanna. Well, let's see. They have 4 children so there are at least 4 more! If you like Fixer Upper, you'll love this book. And because Chip reads? Double the reason to love it!

    16. Would you like this book if you’re not already a fan? No idea. But I am a fan and Chip is always hilarious and inspiring so this books gets a thousand stars from me. 😁(Only negative: There is some recapping from his perspective of things already discussed in The Magnolia Story, but thankfully not too much!)

    17. I enjoy Chip and Joanna Gaines, like a lot of people. I read their other book and really enjoyed it. This one was almost as good. I enjoyed reading about how Chip and Joanna started their businesses, along with the other stories. It is a very easy read and it definitely was inspiring.

    18. I listened to this on audiobook and I am so glad I did! It was narrated by Chip which meant that he added his little nuances and humor to the audio version. So much wisdom is in this book because of him learning from his mistakes. I'm looking forward to reading it as well because there are so many tidbits I'd love to highlight and journal about. Such a good book! :)

    19. This wasn't as easy a read as Joanna's book, but still entertaining. While the Magnolia book was more of their story, I felt like this book was more Chip's thoughts on life and business. A good read overall.

    20. Chip makes going for your dreams sound like the grandest adventure and not a terrifying undertaking. I loved the chapter on his heart for restoring Waco. Gave me so much excitement for my future business endeavors in a small town on the brink of growth!

    21. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.Who doesn't like Chip Carter Gaines from Fixer Upper? Seriously. This book was well written as well as funny and inspiring. Chip gives glimpses behind the scenes of his life before and during the show and pushes us to achieve any goals we want. I seriously recommend this book for everyone.

    22. First, I love Chip & Joanna Gaines. They are real and genuine. This book is real, emotional, and honest. I love the stories and the lessons that go with the stories.

    23. This books makes you want to dream bigger and love larger ! Chip is inspiring, witty, and humorous. A very fun read !

    24. Enjoyed this one. Gave a nice insight into Chip and Joanna's lives. Chip is pretty deep and sincere and a real go getter. It's no wonder thery are so successful as they're not afraid to try.

    25. If you read The Magnolia Story and you want to learn a little bit more about the Gaines’ backstory and philosophy, you will enjoy this book.
