    1. When I first read the premise of Then There Was You, I thought it would be cute. I was counting on a sweet story with a bit of humor as well. While it certainly is cute, sweet and humorous, this story was so much more than I first thought. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about a story in which a mega church plays a big role, but the characters come across as real people, flaws and all. The setting is also superbly written. I felt transported to Australia, and New Zealand, and it was fun to experi [...]

    2. I loved, loved, loved this book. It made me so delightfully happy. I shouldn't be surprised, since I enjoyed Kara Isaac's previous two novels so much, and I'm not sure why it took me so long to get my hands on a copy (preorder was invented for a reason, right?), but this book was just such a wonderful and enchanting experience that it caught me by surprise. There are so many things that I loved about this book, so I made a list:- it's set in Australia. Drop bears. Ha! - it doesn't shy away from t [...]

    3. Can I give this book a billion stars?!?!!?! Please?!?! As a bookseller in a Religious/Christian bookstore, we had a huge section of inspirational and doctrinal books to choose from. Many customers would ask my opinion, and would the books give them the answers they sought. As with anything I usually told them, my mantra is to make sure you're saying your prayers, reading your scriptures. That way the Spirit can be with you and will confirm the good things within. Never in a million years would I [...]

    4. From the very first page of Then There Was You, I was chuckling. It didn’t take long to outright laugh aloud. I adore Kara Isaac’s writing voice. It’s full of warmth, humor, sincerity, and emotion. Josh and Paige are endearingly flawed with their own stories that color their assumptions about each other when they first meet. This not only serves as a gentle reminder for all of us to look past first impressions and/or prejudices but also makes for some excellent banter between these two cha [...]

    5. I LOVED the setting of this book in Sydney, Australia! It's always fun to "travel" when reading a great book. Paige is a contrast of professionally competent and emotional wreck. She's very impressive when she's in her element of organizing massive events, but it's her moments of vulnerability and pain that made me connect with her character. Her memories of her brother and the significance of his loss are unfolded slowly throughout the story and the poignancy of the healing moments drew me in. [...]

    6. Full review on Faithfully BookishPaige McAllister is my kind of character! It's easy to like an all-American gal who is stuck in a rut, too hard on herself and has organizational superpowers. Paige decides to fly halfway across the world despite her paralyzing fear of flying and I'm just completely in awe of her for grabbing life by the horns.Aussie Josh Tyler is relatively boring for an international Christian worship music superstar. When he's not jetting around the world for performances, J [...]

    7. Another fantastic book by Kara Isaac! She has a unique way of both transporting you to another place (this time to Australia and New Zealand) and making you feel right at home at the same time. I completely fell in love with the characters--flaws and all. Their realistic struggles make them seem more like regular people rather than superstars, which makes them approachable on all levels. And I can't finish this review without mentioning the romanceah the romance. It is heartfelt and touching, wi [...]

    8. Kara Isaac is fast becoming a favorite. I adore her writing style. She combines humor, pain, life messages and God's love throughout.I say keep 'em coming Kara. The talent is real.

    9. Absolutely delightful! Loved the unfolding story, characters and humorous moments! Tucked in all of this were some well placed insights; faith moments and lessons that truly felt organic to the story. This one had me glued to the page and up late, because I just had to finish it!

    10. I bought Kara Isaac's first book simply because the cover was amazing. Now that's something I don't ordinarily do, but I did it this time. I was not to be disappointed. The book was great. So was her next book. Now, with her third book, Isaac has proven to have a solid foundation in Christian fiction. She can write and write extremely well!Would you give up everything for a life you hate with the person you love?Paige McAllister needs to do something drastic. Her boyfriend can’t even commit to [...]

    11. WOW! AWESOME!! It was truly amazing and beautifully written. Ghosts of their pasts made Josh and Paige who they are today. Will these ghosts continue to dictate their futures or will they take a leap of faith? Then There Was You is filled with witty banter, charming supporting characters and emotional revelations. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!!!

    12. 4.5 StarsWhat a fun story! Kara Isaac's characters are adorable. They remind me of the stories I love to write, so, of course, I love to READ them!! Paige is completely adorkable - in her clumsy, bumbling, victory-dancing sort of way, she stumbles right into musician, Josh Tyler's life. Their personalities are opposite in some ways, but perfectly fitted where it matters most. Kara keeps the faith theme organic, but a strong thread in the midst of two people trying to understanding how to move fo [...]

    13. Any book that makes you laugh a belly laugh and cry an ugly cry (or almost) is worth the read. Contemporary fiction is not my favorite genre (give me a good historical any day!) but I make exceptions for ones that stand out above the rest. This one definitely stands out. I do have to say on the mega church issue, that the problems many people have with them are much more multi faceted than presented in this book. This was an extremely shallow treatment of the topic, so don't expect deep thoughts [...]

    14. This is not a book to read in public if you can't hold your laugh while keeping a normal face.Looooooooooved <3Now I understand why Paige and Josh were one of people’s favourite characters from last year. This book is all kind of adorbs.Paige, feisty, loyal, lovable, cute Paige. She’s waking up. Or better yet, finally opening herself up. Daring to live out of a sheltered life. She’s off on an adventure to the other side of the world. But once she discovered her cousin’s idea of a perf [...]

    15. Swooning Romance!!I just finished Then There Was You and I have the biggest smile on my face. This was such a sweet and fun read. I couldn't put this book down. It had all the feels. I laughed, and I cried, and then I laughed some more. Then I swooned. I love books like this. If you are looking for a fun romcom with an inspirational message, then this book is for you.

    16. Last year, I read two wonderful books by Kara Isaac and have not been shy about proclaiming one of them (Can’t Help Falling) as one of my top reads of 2016. So, when I found out Isaac had a new one out, I promptly ordered it. And it sat and sat. Not because I didn’t want to read it but because I’ve been busy with other reading commitments. Finally, finally, I carved out the time to read this gem of a book. And I devoured it! There is so much to say about this book. The humor is delicious. P [...]

    17. This was such a funny story that I laughed out loud so many times ( which required explanation to family members), yet it was a poignant one as well. The story was so well written that the reader can really empathize with the characters as they try to move on with their lives with things in the past still haunting them. It's easy to relate because life isn't a bed of roses. This story has the struggles, pain, and turmoil that take place in our lives, and how a God can use those to mold us into th [...]

    18. I wolfed this story down in two days. I love Kara's writing and I'm about to dive into edits, so rather than anxiously waiting to read this lovely book as a reward, I read it first. Kara has the ability to evoke all the emotions. I laughed, a lot, and cried. A lot. This was an interesting novel for me, as it dealt with what has become so common nowadays, the mega church. I'll admit, like Paige, I'm not a fan. It was interesting to get a peek inside the walls and perhaps a better understanding of [...]

    19. I loved the characters in this book. They unfolded to me gently which allowed me to love them more every single page. They were so human. So broken but so strong. The relationship between Paige and Josh started out very rocky but even then with a zing of attraction. Thing slowly progressed from enemies to truce co-workers, then to friends. It was a gradual build and made the very ending extra satisfying. It was a long wait for that first kiss though!Kara Isaac is such a gifted writer. It's always [...]

    20. In her third novel, author, Kara Isaac, does not disappoint! Set in the idyllic Australian landscape readers are introduced to event planner extraordinaire, Paige McAllister, and world-renowned worship leader, Josh Tyler. Ms. Isaac's witty humor spills onto the pages and into the character's lives as they navigate the murky waters of regret. This romantic comedy is reminiscent of a bygone era when the meet-cute was enough to send a heart soaring and sarcastic flirtation was endearing. It's the ki [...]

    21. This book kept me up to 11:30. I read it in one sitting. So it is easy to read, very real in terms of the issues in people's lives. I particularly liked the portrayal of Josh's family - loved his parents and sister. Also liked the link in with real places and contemporary news stories in US and NZ. It even mentioned visiting a nature reserve in my home suburb in Sydney and there really is one. The 'secrets' that each character had also kept you reading and wanting to discover their background. W [...]

    22. Then There Was You is a heart-stirring, belly laugh inducing story from award winning author Kara Isaac. In her first indie release, Isaac offers return readers another glimpse of her homeland (New Zealand) as well as a 6-month stay in Australia. This ends up being the perfect amount of time for Paige McAllister to build her resume, take in the sights, and overcome a bad first impression.Kara Isaac has a knack for making me feel like I’m in the moment with her characters. This was especially t [...]

    23. This book is so stinking cute! It'll leave you with a silly grin and a happy sighd that's after the moments of hide-behind-your-hand-giggling you'll be doing throughout the book. If you're looking for a pure out fun read, this is it.

    24. Kara Isaac never fails to deliver a swoony romance and this one is just as excellent as her first two! This is so much more than just an entertaining romance though, both Paige and Josh have a journey to go on before they're completely ready to give in to their attraction. They each have a lot of learning to do about who they are and what they truly want in life. Meeting each other and being forced to confront these issues isn't easy for them, but what fun it makes for the reader!I laughed so ma [...]

    25. Another engrossing read from Kara! To me, the hallmark of a fabulous book is when characters are like good friends: you laugh with them, you cry with them, you cheer for them, and sometimes you want to smack some sense into them! I found myself doing all of these things at different parts of Josh's and Paige's story. I also found myself relating to their regrets about their pasts. I think that we all have decisions that we aren't proud of, and I appreciate Kara's ability to create multi-faceted [...]

    26. "Every note could dredge up memories she spent her days trying to forget." Paige McAllister has been bound by memories of tragedy for years; losing herself to the cruel specters of fear and regret. When presented with an opportunity to throw caution "to the wind", she boldly breaks an engagement and travels from Chicago, Illinois to Sydney, Australia, to spend time with her cousin, while managing to secure a short -term logistics management job at a popular mega-church. And it's there that Paige [...]

    27. While being sick on and off this month I downloaded a bunch of chick-flick looking books (not my normal read at all), because I wanted something easy, simple, sweet, and hopefully, that would make me laugh. This was probably the most surprising of the half dozen or so books that I read. There was more substance to the story than I had thought there would be, as well as an interesting plotline. Although I could hardly stand the character at the beginning of the book, by the end there was one time [...]

    28. Where do I even start?! This book was amazing! Truly! I’m not just saying that because I love this author’s work, though there is that, but because I really did love it! I had such high expectations for this book and Ms. Isaac surpassed them all! I’m not always a big fan of contemporary romance, though I do have a few authors whose books I will excitedly snatch up at the bookstore and Kara Isaac has quickly had her name added to the list. I enjoyed her first two books, “Close to You” a [...]

    29. I am a huge fan of Kara Isaac, so when I heard that she had another book coming out, I was impatiently awaiting its release date. Kara knows how to take two characters that appear to be the exact opposite of each other, and bring them together in a way that makes you question why you ever thought they were wrong for each other. She has a knack for having amazing male characters! Josh is no exception to this rule. I think he entered my swoon worthy chart in his very first scene. And the level of [...]
