Born in the wilds of British Columbia, the young Faith frolicked among the Sasquatch native to the province before moving to Ontario at age five There she was homeschooled with her three brothers, and developed an unnatural passion for galloping around on horseback, though never without a proper helmet because you only get one skull After twenty years of suffering through Ontario s obscenely hot summers, she migrated east, and now lives beside the other ocean in Halifax, Nova Scotia She worked in animation for a bit, and now draws comics full time She s not sure how that happened either.

    1. Summer will end. Our friendship won't.Short and fun read. Their simple yet wacky adventure made me giggle and feel warm.

    2. I really liked the special. The story manages to capture the essence of our Lumberjanes and the panels help the story greatly!

    3. Probably my favorite Lumberjanes story which emphasizes how much the girls care for each other as friends. Also I thought the magical horse was really cool.

    4. I love this artist usually, but, seriously? This borrows too heavily from The Last Unicorn. Shiny horse beings tracked down and captured until there is only one left! It tries to escape the evil person's bull wolves but is caught! Our heroines free the unicorns shiny horse beings all at once in a rush! On a cliff! :-/ Disappointing, since I was very excited to see Hicks's name attached to it, but I was hoping for something a little more original.

    5. I absolutely adore these girls, i love their friendship and i love reading about them. BUT WHAT DOES SOLA MEANS IN THE END?? Will their friendship ends after summer?? What will Molly do?? I dont want them to part :(

    6. In this special issue we see the girls in a new arc. What I liked the most: their friendship is great. What I didn't like: I think this arc could have been longer.

    7. 3.5 starsIt was cute! It’s always really irritating to me when the illustrators switch, though. I️ prefer the original person instead.

    8. 3.5This was a cute read, but I prefer the storyline graphic novels, those have more adventures. Still nice graphics though.

    9. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 stars is because I was COMPLETELY lost. I'm new to the comic book world and when I saw this in the comic book store and saw that this was "volume 1" I automatically assumed it was the FIRST ever Lumberjanes but after reading the reviews, I now know this was a special. I might change this rating if I decide to reread this comic after I've actually read the REAL first volume. This story was still incredibly cute and there was a ghost pony in it sooo that was pre [...]

    10. I really love the way this comic reminds me of the way "girly" stuff is completely awesome despite all the ways that others try to present it. Hello unicorns!Getting back to the unicorns, the girls finally meet one! I'm not as big a fan as the mermaids from #18-20 but I loved seeing them in this special issue. Also, poor Jen. I love how big a nerd she is and how she always seems to just want to do the things that a normal camp would do or what it seems like all the other girls get to do but she' [...]

    11. Ripley just has such a special place in my heart. I love any stories we get where she has a chance to shine and not just be a source of ridiculous one-liners. Not the longest or most complex short, but it was cute! I wasn't fond of the art style in this one, just because it was SO different, but after a couple of pages you get used to it and just focus on the ghost pony story.

    12. There was nothing wrong with this issue other than the fact that it was SUPER SHORT. I bought it because I found the Fried Pie variant cover for $1.00. It was of course worth the $1.00, I just wish I got more story along with the pretty cover.

    13. • 4 stars •I love when the girls come together and have each others back hardcore. Ripley is so sweet in this issue and I love how the girls dropped everything because they knew she would find trouble. Ghosty is adorable also, please can we see him/her again?!

    14. I liked this issue, it was a cute story. I do prefer the main run of this story though and the artwork in those is much better. I didn't hate this artwork it just didn't fit as well with the story to me.

    15. 2.5 stars. Probably my least favourite Lumberjanes issue. Didn't love the art or the storyline, Ripley seemed to be dumbed down, also?

    16. It was a cute story but I did not like it as much as I do the regular series. Also, the artwork while good, wasn't as bright and colorful as in the regular series.

    17. Enjoyed the story, Ripley being the central actor in this one. Didn't care for Valero-O'Connell's artwork.
