    1. I have read this book approximately 8 times at this point. I haven't been counting but I love the characters, the plot, the writing style and everything else about it so I keep coming back to it. The best part of this novel is that it is part of a much larger universe. Fitzpatrick has 12 other novels of various lengths and all of them are really fantastic reads. She also has a tumblr (youcouldmakealife.tumblr) with extra short stories set in her universe, answers to fan questions and lots of oth [...]

    2. So I've read anything by this author I could get my hands on and I love all of it!All her stories are set in the NHL and centered around stupid hockey players who fall in love with each other. If that's not your cup of tea, you won't like this, but I love it. Personally, I don't think this is her best work, but as far as I know, it's also one of her earliest. (My favourite is probably between the teeth, which is still a work in progress on ao3.)Fair warning though, this reads a little like a ser [...]

    3. At first I really struggled to get into the writing style but with time the author either gets better or I stopped noticing.I really enjoyed the story, they get together really quickly and I thought Now what's going to happen, they're together, but it does progress and I didn't find it boring anywhere, so I think that's all good!I think the best part is the last chapter!

    4. Maybe a 3.5? I bumped it up because the second half was significantly stronger than the first. This is the story of Dan and Marc, rookies coming up into the NHL together. Marc is a superstar, face of the franchise, hope of a city caliber player. Dan is not. The two are immediately drawn together, and quickly fall in love, and while I enjoyed the getting together part of their relationship, by far an away the strengths of the novel are the two of them making it work. Dan bounces around between th [...]

    5. Just finished reading this beautiful piece of goodness! I love some hockey boys and these two made me laugh, chuckle (not in my usual repertoire) and come close to tears in a couple of spots. It is not my normal 5 star- generally, I like a tad of dirty- this one is more toward sweet than spicy. I will look forward to a reread, and will look forward to this authors other work!

    6. This is a wonderful story with characters who seem so real it's surprising they don't actually exist. I had read this when it was posted online and I was so happy to find it as an ebook -- definitely something I will want to reread again.

    7. DNF @ approx 30% The writing style. I just could not get over it. It was like a stream of consciousness and I had to go back and re read. I tried I really did

    8. gah, this book was so good! so good. There were some typos but everything else outweighed them. The writing style was unique (third person present tense, but entirely from Dan's pov) and the characters were wonderful. I liked that there were issues (what kind of book would have no conflict at all), but nothing was over the top at all. It was more a story of the evolution and growth of Dan and Marc's relationship and the growth of them individually as people. The writing reminded me a bit of Pull [...]

    9. I finished reading this for the second time and I'm just???? I still love it so much. I love Pierre Marc Lapointe so much. Please read this!Okay look I know I'm mushy and obsessed with both hockey and gay hockey boys, but this book is amazing. Hear me out: Good, easy, relaxed writing style; a romance that isn't slow burn but has enough outside angst to be perfect; an ending that makes me want to rip my heart out. I'm a sucker for books that make me feel like I just swallowed a mountain of sugar, [...]

    10. I've been reading this series for a year and a half and I'm still pretty obsessed with it. It's just so good??? I have yet to read the published book (I read it on AO3) and I gotta say: read it. Really. Even if when you're starting the style is not your cup of coffee (happened to me). You forget it after three chapters and then it's just so good? Everything about this book makes me smile. It's hilarious and it makes me suffer and bite my fist so I not yell. Like, really, guys, I love this book.

    11. I kickstartered this book, so obviously I was going to like it. It's not as different from the original version as I was expecting (or as perhaps the author led us to believe). The passage of time makes a little more sense at the beginning. But the book version is more or less the same story I loved the first time around.

    12. this was pretty cute when i read it on archiveofourown and it's still pretty cute now. the transitions are a little smoother so that's nice. ngl, i was hoping there'd be more substantive changes in the transformation to published book but i'd say the pre-order price is worth it for the additional story of the week content3 stars

    13. I just recently found imogenedisease and have loved every one of her stories. I cannot rave enough about all of her main characters, the loveliness of her writing style and the authentic feel of the world she has created. Just lovely.

    14. Omg it was lovely???Almost all told and not shown, but the irony and plot twists more than enough made up for it! And it being 1000% Canadian is the perfect selling point.(I'd loved more smut and if Marc considers himself gay/bi/pan? But other than that, amazing)

    15. Really good!! You follow these characters throughout their relationship and really grow to love and sympathize with them. It's a good look at what the coming out of two hockey players in the NHL could look like. Even if you don't normally like romance I can almost guarantee you'll like this book!
