    1. I was taken by A.S. Neill's educational philosophy back when I was in college. I was quite the idealist in those days. Eventually I incorporated many of his ideas into my own teaching. This book was a review and history of his life and his school; it filled in may gaps for me as I follwed his career and his thinking.
