    1. Dollycas’s ThoughtsIt is getting close to Christmastime in South Lick, Indiana. Robbie Jordan has a welcome home party booked at Pans ‘N Pancakes before she can start decorating. Erica Shermer is back in South Lick after the death of her husband, but she sure doesn’t seem to be grieving. I completely understand we all grieve in our own way but flirting with her departed husband’s brother and every other man in the room seems just a bit off. When Robbie finds Erica’s very dead body spre [...]

    3. I'm definitely enjoying this small town and the characters. Robbie is pretty smart and self-sufficient. I think the love triangle hinted at in book 1 might be over, which is a great thing (view spoiler)[and I like Abe better than Jim anyway (hide spoiler)]. This time around Robbie finds a body in her store/restaurant and has to make sure no one she cares about is blamed. Good mystery and I definitely read the next one.

    5. Robbie Jordan is keeping her restaurant open on a Saturday night for a special welcome home party for Erica Shermer. However, not everyone is thrilled that Erica is back, as Robbie sees when Erica fights with several of the guests. Still, she’s surprised when she comes down the next morning to find Erica dead in the restaurant. What was Erica doing back at the restaurant? And who killed her?I fell in love with these characters when I read the first in the series, so it was great to be back spe [...]

    7. When I was given the chance to read Grilled For Murder I jumped on it faster than kids on a trampoline. You see, I fell in love with Flipped For Murder, book 1 in Maddie Day's new Country Store Mystery series. Just like in book 1, Grilled For Murder has a plot that has more twists in it that keep you guessing about the demise of Erica Shermer. The author did another spectacular job of weaving several story threads throughout the book. This kept the book from getting monotonous or stale. The enti [...]

    8. Robbie Jordan is hosting a welcome back home party for Erica Shermer, at her store/restaurant, Pans 'N Pancakes. Erica seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way. The party ends well, though, and everyone seems happywell, not everyone.Sometime after the party ended, someone killed Erica in the middle of Robbie's store, using one of Robbie's antiques. Robbie is worried about how this will affect her business. She also wants to find out who killed Erica, and left her for Robbie to find. This is the [...]

    9. This was the first cozy mystery book I have read. I could not of started with a better one. This book is written in such a way that you soon feel like you are a part of the story. It is about a woman who starts up her café and the struggles she encounters in getting it up and running. All seems to be going along fine. That is, until she opens her shop and finds a body inside. The fear is that customers will not come in any longer. The mystery of why this woman was killed in her café and why ne [...]

    11. Robbie Jordan is doing what she loves, operating Pans 'N Pancakes in South Lick, Indiana. Until someone leaves a dead body in her store. Too many of Robbie's friends and acquaintances are suspects, so Robbie sets about trying to figure out what happened, over the objections of the state detective, a woman who has a past with Robbie's boyfriend. This is the second book in the author's Country Store Mystery series. Day has done a nice job of creating the South Lick community, with family, friends a [...]

    12. Meet Robbie Jordan and her friends in South Lick, Indiana. Robbie owns and operates Pans 'N Pancakes, a breakfast and lunch diner. While starting opening prep she finds the body of the guest of honor from the previous night's catered party. Getting her business opened back up and dispelling bad vibes from being a crime scene put Robbie right in the middle of the investigation. With the help of friends and family, she disturbs someone enough to try and kill her. These are delightful characters wi [...]

    13. Grilled for Muder is the 2nd book in the Country Store Mystery series by Maddie Day. Robbie Jordan is serving up pancakes and biscuits to her friends and neighbors and having the time of her life. Unfortunately, a killer cooks up a murder and leaves the body in her restaurant! Robbie definitely feels that she should find out who killed Erica. She was a woman who seemed to have more enemies than friends so there's no shortage of suspects. Things aren't always as they seem and there are lots of tw [...]

    14. This is the second installation in the Country Store Mystery series and it was as enjoyable as the first one. A 4.5 rounded up to 5 stars. Robbie Jordan has had her country store/country restaurant open for a couple of months and she is as busy as ever. She has kept her place open on a Saturday night for a Welcome Home Party for Erica Shermer. Erica was recently widowed and she is back in town. Her parents threw her this party, but everyone is not happy with Erica. During the party there are som [...]

    15. Grilled For Murder is the second book in Maddie Day’s Country Store Mysteries series. The story is well developed and flows smoothly and the characters relatable. Ms. Day did an excellent job of incorporating the local dialect in the “spoken” words but not in the narrative, which I believe adds to the readability of her book and allows the characters to come to life. There were plenty of twists and turns and no adult language, graphic violence, or sexually explicit situations. I highly rec [...]

    16. "Hope they reserved an auditorium!!Who didn't have a problem with Erica?" With snarky, snappy dialog like this, new-to-me cozy author Maddie Day grabbed my attention and held it fast. I heartily enjoyed Grilled for Murder,#2 A Country Store Mystery, set in the hills of Brown County, Southern Indiana. Having lived in the hills of southern Ohio, I felt like the author did a great job with the local color and dialect. There were a few phrases I felt may have added even more flavor, but maybe we'll s [...]

    18. Grilled for Murder, the second in Maddy Day's Country Store Mysteries was excellent! Once I started reading I couldn't out it down and cannot wait for the next one. The series is about California native Robbie Jordan, proud new owner of Pans "N Pancakes, a country store and restaurant in a small town in Indiana. When finding a body in her store, Robbie keeps finding clues that results in a lot of twists and surprises in the well developed plot. There is more trouble for Robbie in South Lick, Ind [...]

    19. Robbie is finally getting things back on track with her business when she finds a dead body in her restaurant. Only Erica was the guest of honor the previous evening. Admittedly Erica rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but who would've killed her and WHY put her in Robbie's restaurant?! Robbie's worries about the effect on her business is compounded when things start going south in her love life.I have enjoyed the small town feel of the setting in this series and the development of the charac [...]

    20. The second book in a cozy series set in South Lick, Indiana is an enjoyable read. A California transplant, Robbie, recently opened and now runs Pans N' Pancakes. She finds the body of a rather nasty woman in her store and begins to solve the puzzle of the murder. The author uses Hoosier colloquialisms and aw'shucks conversations to bring the characters to life. As the series continues, the characters will probably develop more. Overall, it is a solid addition to the cozy genre.**I received a cop [...]

    24. A real page turner just like the first book in the series. The mystery and characters were well developed and I kept guessing until the end. The twist on the relationship between Jim and Robbie came totally unexpected and makes it different from all the other cozy mysteries. I already have several ideas how life in South Lick could go on but can't wait to see what Maddie Day has in store for us.Pre-ordered "When the Grits hit the Fan" right away :)

    25. Anytime I travel, I like to stop at little country stores in the small communities. They have such cool personalities (yes the stores as well as the owners). A bologna sandwich and an ice cold Coke in a bottle.just doesnt taste the same if gotten somewhere elseis book evoked comforting and pleasant memories and I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment to the series!

    26. In anticipation of book 4 in this series, I decided to read this one and will follow up with the next one. I had read an excerpt the author provided and wanted to make sure I was completely up to date on the characters before reading the new one coming out this month.I loved returning to South, Lick IN. It's after Thanksgiving and people are starting to think about Christmas. One of the local girls, Erica, had returned home a few months ago so her parents threw a homecoming party at Robbie's caf [...]

    27. A gentle cozy murder mystery with good recipes as a bonus to readers at the ending.Robbie Jordan is spending her fourth Christmas season as Country Store owner and chef. Although she is pleased by business increasing, she isn't so pleased when she finds a dead woman on the floors of the café/store. Someone was angry at Erica, in fact, everyone was upset/irritated with the widow of Robbie's boyfriends brother. As quickly as Erica gets welcomed home, she is murdered. Robbie is concerned about the [...]
