    2. You pick up a detective book, and what do you expect? A case. A case that has not yet been solved. And it is up to you, the reader, to venture on a journey with the detective attempting to solve said case along the way. In R.E. Conary’s “`Life’s a Bitch. So Am I.’ Rachel Cord, P.I.” the reader meets a detective….with a case. The difference is Conary’s detective is not the type one would expect. Conary’s detective is a well-endowed lesbian female, blessed with a quick wit and a ba [...]

    3. I am conflicted about this book. It has a lot of stereotypes, kind of Sam Spade - like lesbian PI uncovers some kind of crime ring at large personal expense, and I didn't appreciate at all the very explicit rape/torture scene. On the other hand, I couldn't put the book down. Didn't give it more points because of the torture scene.

    4. Uneven but interesting. A little too graphic for me, but enough plot points left unresolved to send me to book 2

    6. This book is not for the "faint of heart." Written in 1st person narrative, we learn a great deal about her life as a gay woman whose lover has left her. There are many references to her need to reduce her bust size. Very graphic details abound, particularly about attack she suffered when she finds the young woman she has been hired to locate.
