    1. Exciting new science-fiction! I used to read sci-fi as a kid and was looking to get back into it when I came across MindGuard by Andrei Cherascu. I’m glad I chose such a good place to rekindle my love of the genre. Mindguard is set in the far future where telepathy is used to reach into minds and gather information illegally. The story follows two Mindguards, specialists charged with protecting VIP’s minds from these hackers (think psychic bodyguards), as they escort a special ‘package’ [...]

    2. It's a great original story. There's something for everyone in here: action, comedy, drama, thought provoking discoveries and mind-bending ideas. The characters are vivid and, whether you like them or not, you will find yourself rooting for someone one way or the other. It's a highly quotable and endlessly entertaining read.

    3. A hackneyed space opera but, nonetheless, ambitious. From an overall perspective the book is not boring and not uninteresting. The plot is dynamic but a bit melodramatic and twisted by preestablished sci-fi paradigms in foreseeable ways. The story is more about present anxieties than about future possible events. It tackles the concepts of privacy and individuality as opposed to transparency and swarm behavior. The resulting antithesis based on this dichotomy becomes the main theme of the book a [...]

    4. Wonderful debut novel! Mindguard is not only about a mission to safely deliver a humanity changing packet and the government's attempt to stop the mission. Mindguard is about humanity, the advancement of science and technology, and how we, as humans in our different roles in society, confront all of social, legal, and ethical implications of this fast changing world. This fast-paced cinematic story goes beyond mere entertainment and posses interesting and important questions about humanity's fut [...]

    5. This book started out so interesting, then peaked, and turned toward too much religion. There were a handful of typos, which I can get past as the writing was well done. By the time I completed reading this adventure, I found that I didn't really connect with the characters and have no desire to do so. Some of the characters started out interesting but that halted and continued as/is.You've got some good Sci-Fi elements here: Galactic Empire, The Force, enhanced bodies, teleportation and plenty [...]

    6. Great sci-fi bookIt was certainly one of the best sci-fi books I read in the past few years.Starts with a great premisse, and as the story develops, it turns into a more deep and complex philosophical question about humanity.Every single character is well thought, well developed. You find yourself having mix feelings about them. It's a book I gladly recomendo, and look forward to read the next one.

    7. Very Enjoyable Sci Fi ReadIt is often hard to find books from less famous writers that have as gracefully woven a story as this. The characters are intriguing and the women, especially, are as fully created as any reader could hope for. The technology and nuisance of this futuristic world is a gratifying ride.

    8. TrapedYou know it's a good book when you can't put it down. The story took me through bends and turns I wouldn't have traveled on my own. It opened up and changed how I persevere things. It was grate can't wait for the next one.

    9. Thought provokingThe book was hard to follow in some sections but the characters were intriguing and oon occasionally went into unexpected directions. I thought provoking read. I'm trying to decide if my brain is ready for the next installment.

    10. EPIC Page-TurnerThick plot, yet not only easy to follow, but also addicting! I inhaled it like a drowning man vaccuums air as his head breaches the waves! I shell seek out Mr. Cherascu's other "Opi" with the same enthusiasm!

    11. It's a great original story. There's action, comedy, drama, thought provoking discoveries and mind-bending ideas. The characters are vivid and, whether you like them or not, your response to their actions will be visceral It's a highly quotable and endlessly entertaining read.

    12. Not a good read. Meandered all over the place. I wish I didn't feel like I had to finish every book I started. I wasted a few hours finishing this.

    13. This was mostly an enjoyable read for a first novel by a new author. The book was, for the most part, competently written with a decent plot, realistic sci-fi dialog, and well-developed characters. Much better than a bunch of other free downloads (I got it on special offer). There were a few problems and I hope the author reads this review and addresses these in his future works (which he should definitely produce).1) Misunderstanding of future tense. There are a few sentences that were irritatin [...]

    14. Frustrating; I wanted to like it but The idea behind this story is great, and I looked forward to reading it but was able to get only about 20% through before giving up in frustration. The general writing style is just too YA for me with its simplistic worldview and over emphasis on emotional states. Military commanders are not father figures however much a young soldier might want them to be. There was also a strong sexist tone to the writing, eg the young female protagonist was suspended after [...]

    15. Great debut novel, starts a bit slow but becomes engaging very soon. Loved the non-linear narrative and the way the author tries to describe emotions of his characters, even if often they look bigger than life. After all, it's space _opera_, which means strong and over-emotional characters are expected. The level of details in the descriptions is also quite satisfactory, - let's say that the author managed to create the world real enough for the story to be convincing. Recommend if you are into [...]

    16. Well written and sweeping in scope.I read this novel slowly. The subject matter is not one to speed through. At the start, the incredibly complicated plot doesn't seem to be leading anywhere, but the information needs to be taken in. Each character plays an important role as the story reaches confrontation point.Deep down, the philosophy strikes a chord in me. Two basic human needs struggle for supremacy—individualism and connection to all. The novel has left me with a longing for humanity to [...]

    17. A good bookThought provoking view of mankind in the future is what this novel shows. The storyline was interesting and the characters were enough to keep me reading. Although I enjoyed the book, I have to ask the author to please fix the spelling and grammar errors in the book. They are distracting to a reader. Find someone or several someone's who will proofread your work please

    18. Such a great book! It gets you hooked from the very beginning and it keeps on creating suspense until the end. This book proved to me once again that SF is amazing if you encounter a talented writer!

    19. TelepathA government employed telepath must protect a young woman and the information she carries with her. The world of this novel is a totalitarian government that has spread to the stars.
