    1. I was disappointed in this book - it didn't live up to the title of linking the dead sea scrolls to early christianity. Thiede is detail oriented and his textual analysis is fascinating, but he is not good at the broad overview.His main link between the DSS and early Christianity are two hotly disputed fragments which could be from 1 Timothy and the Gospel of Mark. While Thiede makes a case for them being Christian documents, he fails to adequately follow up and explain the consequences. What do [...]
