    1. Pitch Imperfect is a very good example that giving people second chances can be so messy. Our characters, Rob and Anjuli has a messy past. The leaving-at-the-altar thingy is the biggest of them all. They were both so in love when they were younger, but that's the thing I think they were too young and Anjuli has so many dreams that has yet to come true. As much as I would like to hate Anjuli's character for this I think it's for the best. As a woman, I think that she would have resented him if she [...]

    2. Note: This ARC was provided by Carina Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review."Pitch Imperfect" is a standalone contemporary romance novel from Elise Alden and is about two people who were once very much in love and engaged to be marrieduntil the bride leaves her groom waiting at the altar. Will eight years apart be enough for them to work together on something they both have fond memories of or is the pain of abandonment and betrayal still too much to overcome?Anjuli Carver loved R [...]

    3. I really enjoyed this book and I LOVED Rob's Scottish accent. I would love to listen to this on Audible.Rob is forgiving, determined, patient and totally swoon-worthy (even though he did a very bad thing by leaving Anjuli hanging once she came to her senses). Anjuli is dealing with a loss and secrets, while punishing herself by running away from happiness. At times, I wanted to shake Anjuli for being so stupid. I thought she was coming around when she said this to Rob:"Because you asked and I ha [...]

    4. While the writing and storyline are definitely good, two things keep me from giving the book a higher rating: first of all I skipped a few chapters towards the end (not very polite, but I got bored) and secondly I really didn’t like Rob’s behavior during the last scene in the pub before the happy end.

    5. Pitch Imperfect should draw in fans of Elise Alden as well as readers who like their romances sweet yet fiery.Anjuli has returned to Scotland as a worn out singer whose career is tumbling out of control and whose heart is broken after walking out on her fiancé on their wedding day. She plans to turn an old castle into a bed and breakfast, but that might require her to beg for help from her ex Rob, a successful architect.Rob is still angry and in no mood to mend fences with Anjuli. Meddling town [...]

    6. To read this review and others like it check out my site at homelovebooks I went back and forth between whether or not I should give this three or four stars, because ultimately I did enjoy this book, I read it from beginning to end in one sitting, but at the same time, I don't think this book stuck with me after I was done reading it like some other books I have read. So when the book starts you have Anjuli coming back home to start her life over from scratch basically. She used to be a very fa [...]

    7. ***I was given a copy via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.***Pitch Perfect by Elise Alden was a sweet and spicy romance. Anjuli, a washed-up, award-winning singer, has returned to her hometown of Heaverlock, Scotland in an attempt to put the pieces of her broken heart back together. She is in the depths of an almost overwhelming grief and loss that she may never be able to overcome. However, returning home and her sister will be no walk in the park; she has plenty of obstacles to ove [...]

    8. I fell in love with Elise Alden a few months ago when I read her debut novel, Hate To Love You. That book was such a surprise, because the story was sexy, heartbreaking, fun, and entertaining. Well, she delivers again with Pitch Imperfect! In this sweet second chance love story, two proud, imperfect characters have to learn to let go of the past in order to save what they once had.I love Alden’s characters because they are flawed, they make mistakes, and they have to deal with the consequences [...]

    9. ARC for ReviewAnjuli Carver a once famous singer returns home to her small town Heaverback Village with secrets. Buying an old old Scottish castle she dreams of renovating it and turning into a bed and breakfast. She still mourns the death of her child Chloe who died, her ability to sing since the death of her daughter, her disappearance of money by her manager and bad investments as long as a her former ex husband gambling loan that he still owes her. Despite her lack of funds she tries to reno [...]

    10. Anjuli returns home practically penniless, toting her baggage full of secrets, grief, and regrets to her rundown future B&B. It's a good thing her sister can give her some hours at the local pub. But what really has everyone in a tither is how her ex-fiance Rob, the guy she left at the altar, is handling her return.Rob Douglas is an accomplished architect, with lots of opportunities to leave small time life, but once Anjuli comes home, he wants to resolve some unfinished business between the [...]

    11. I decided to read this book because I thought the blurb was quite interesting and posed so many questions. Why would a singer stop singing? Why would a woman leave a man at the altar? What secrets do these two have? I was so surprised by this book. First of all, as it was revealed what happened between Anjuli and Rob in the past, I found myself HATING Anjuli for the decisions she made. So I was perplexed because I've never hated a main character before. I had to continue reading to figure out wh [...]

    12. 4 StarsReview by Allison EastI really enjoyed this book from Elise Alden. This is the first book I have read by her, and I am glad that I found her!The heroine of this story, Anjuli, is coming home to start the life she led over. She was a really famous singer- but her private life comes to a pretty crazy halt- and she's lost everything. She buys a house with the money she has left, and it needs to be fixed. The only one who can fix it, is her ex. The one that she left behind. She has no intenti [...]

    13. So this book was about a Once-famous singer Anjuli Carver that returns home after eight years and decides to open a Bed and Breakfast. She runs into her ex-fiancé Rob Douglas and there all the drama begins lol She hires him to restore this Victorian home because he is the only restoration architect for miles.I will sayI did really like the book. I really loved Rob, he seemed like a very hot male that you could be very attracted to. But Anjuli got on my freaking nerves. lol He kept trying to win [...]

    14. Originally posted at Bunny's ReviewI did not look at the cover until I started creating the post for this review. For this book the over is perfect, simply perfect. The castle in the background with the moot and rock bridge on the cover gives me the itch to pack a bag and travel to Scotland hoping to see this castle. When reading this book I pictured Anjuli as someone similar to Adele. Anjuli values privacy more than being in the stoplight, someone who has been hurt bad but does not want the worl [...]

    15. Singer Anjuli Carver returned to her old home village of Heaverlock after leaving her fiance standing at the altar. Her sister runs the village pub and her ex-fiance, Rob Douglas, is the only restoration architect for miles around. Anjuli has lots of secrets but has bought the Victorian manor that was so significant in the life of her and Rob eight years ago. She is nearly broke but everyone else assumes she's a millionaire. Tragic events mean she no longer sings but she doesn't want to explain [...]

    16. Pitch Imperfect is a second chances romance set in Scotland, featuring a kilted alpha hero. What more could you ask for?Anjuli left Rob at the altar and pursued her dream. Now she’s back home, and Rob is the only person available to help her with her new dream. The tension between them is what you’d imagine. In addition to the issue of their past, Anjuli has some newer baggage to work through. Both characters are flawed and realistic, as are the issues they have to work through.Very poignant [...]

    17. 3.5 stars!! I really liked this one but didn't love it. There did seem to be a lot of unnecessary drama that made the story a bit messy in places. I would have loved the book to centre more on the main characters and their fight for their chance at second chance love. However, I want more!! Although there was an epilogue it wasn't enough for me, I want to see them in a few years time, maybe we can have a book 2?

    18. 3-3.5starsFrom her other book which I loved, I knew the author writes well. The heroine here is as irreverent as the female MC in the other book. Really funny. Just lacking in angst. I had a hard time being invested in the story and characters.

    19. This book was emotional and the characters were very interesting. There were a lot of misunderstandings but none were trivial. The hero and heroine were both keeping deep secrets and the resolution was very satisfying if a little drawn out. I enjoyed this book very much!

    20. I LOVED Hate to Love You. unfortunately this one didn't work for me. I lost interest several times through out my read. pacing needed work. too much unnecessary drama. just didn't feel connected :(
