    1. I was deeply moved be the level of disclosure in this short collection of essays. Ms. Wang's writing is so accessible and beautiful. She shares a few of her difficulties and insights, showing the dark and the light, of her own illness. This collection is a reminder that mental illness can be debilitating, but it is not the end of the story. I think this is important for those living with any mental illness and the professionals working with them.


    2. Read this in like an hour. It's more like a book of poems that a cohesive narrative and it's not a self-help book or something I think you can go into expecting to Learn About Mental Illness. But it spoke a great deal to my personal, inside baseball lived experience even as it differs in many ways from Esmé's. It's nice to read books for sick people by sick people that aren't here to cater to bored stereotypes or make healthy people comfortable about even the things they think are givens, and a [...]
