    1. holy shitballs this is excellentt just clever plotting and crafty pacing and authentic-feeling and -acting gay male characters with sensible motivations, but seriously effective heartstring-tuggingybe even a little too much with the tugging. probably. with the denouement, and with kitto, and then with the other denouement, with the sister, and the everythingfuck least two things in this probably need some kind of trigger warning, but w.e it's still the best-written of the four books to this poin [...]

    2. Review written February 18, 20164.3 Stars - Woot, these are just better and better. My love!Book #4 Continued our winter series-buddyread (with Sofia). Once again a interesting part (maybe the best so far) by this talanted Harper Fox. She truly creates magic. — Love, love, love these boys. ********************************************* Cornwall, south England, UKThe Tyack & Frayne series is so far six shorter (75-150 pages) novella episodes in the M/M mystery genre with a new mysterious "ca [...]

    3. This one is quite the paradox. It is both the most disturbing and the most optimistic, almost as if Fox decided there needed to be equilibrium for the readers. Gideon and Lee are plowing forward with their lives, sucking the marrow from the bones when an unexpected event twists their lives around. The fear, the discord, and the horror surrounding the pageantry of Midsummer adds a very dark theatricality to the peace Gideon and Lee have sought. An enticing end pulls me along in its eddy, off to bo [...]

    4. This series keeps getting better. I love Harper Fox in all her styles, but if you are one of the readers who didn't like her most wonderfully lyrical books (like Scrap Metal or Brothers of the Wild North Sea) for their slower pace, this is the series for you. Lee is a psychic, who has been good enough to earn a living at it but who has also tangled with some dark spirits and situations. He was recently freed from his link with a malevolent ghost of the past, and since then his gifts have been ex [...]

    5. 4 StarsWhen last we saw these two gents, Lee was finally able to get rid of a spiritual albatross that had hung around his neck for years, freeing up a latent capacity to actually see more than just impressions or connections. Such a power can be thrilling but very scary as well, especially when his “sight” is not reliable or predictable. In an effort to lessen his stress, Gideon whisks Lee away to a remote area for some much needed R&R. While there, both encounter a spirit that not only [...]

    6. Both the story lines were good. (view spoiler)[I was so afraid for Kitto and so happy that he was not lost. (hide spoiler)] I did roll my eyes a bit at that ending. But I like Gideon and Lee too much to begrudge them what they desire and I think Ms Fox will come to convince me in the next episode.Read with Ingela - BR link

    7. re-read.While still a 5* read - I love these guys - I didn't like this as much as the previous books. The drama here is all from conflict between pragmatic copper Gideon and psychic Lee. They're getting married which is a huge step for them and stress is bringing every niggle to the surface. What I loved about the previous books was the deep trust building between the two that weathered all circumstance; in this book their differences, fears and expectations are tearing them apart. I did like how [...]

    8. 4 starsNeeding a much deserved break from the mystery and madness of the last eight months, Gideon takes Lee away for a short reprieve from all things preternatural. At least, this is the plan until an enigmatic young man, named Kitto, shows up at their holiday cabin asking for their help. The conflict and mystery here lies in the fact that Lee and Gideon are at odds as to the ‘status’ of their young guest. Where Lee is adamant that Kitto is a ghost, Gideon is unconvinced, after all, he can [...]

    9. ***Audio Review***Once again, Tim Gilbert does a good job with Gideon and Lee. I was a little disappointed though that right until the end, Lorna Kemp [from Once Upon a Haunted Moor] was named Laura, and Ray Tregear's 'voice' also changed after Gid and Lee's wedding from growly and stoned to high-pitched and weird. I thought people were paid to keep an eye out [or should that be an ear 🤔] for these things but obviously not 😕 I've dropped my overall rating for the story accordingly.Weird pa [...]

    10. Audiobook review4,5 starsYou know, I’d hate to disappoint Gideon, but I have to tell you his fears (maybe it was predictions?) might just come true after all, this series does have a "Midsomer Murders" feel to it. Only with a darker and creepier edge to it. And I just love it, can't get enough, which is why I've been binging this series. I dare you not to.To relieve Lee of some of the stress his growing power is causing him, Gideon whisks him away on a much needed holiday. They travel to an is [...]

    11. I'm just loving the Tyack & Frayne series and each one gets just a little better. Atmospheric, romantic, sexy, funny, sappy at times, a touch of the supernatural and sleuthing, pretty much sums it up. Although I was tempted to take away a star for the horrible cover on the latest offering but that would be churlish. Recommended but do begin with the first in the series.

    12. 3.5I shouldn't have read the blurb. I spent the first third of the book waiting for the thing to happen. I would have probably enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn't known everything. Lee is having issues with his ability. It seems it is going wild. Now he sees the future too.Kitto makes an appearance somewhere around 33% of the book! At first Gideon doesn't believe he is a ghost and that creates tension between him and Lee. Regardless the all too revealing blurb, I liked the story a lot. The reason [...]

    13. Oh oh Lee & Gid are perfect together. I loved that in this one, they fight and have to work out ways to deal with this (make-up sex for the win!).I loved the changing nature of Lee's psychic abilities and Gideon's rock-steady strength to deal with whatever may come. The mystery was beautifully built into the narrative and romantic elements, and that end it's a winner. More? Yes, please, please yes. More.

    14. 4.5A wonderful addition to Lee and Gideon's ongoing story that I hope will continue to be ongoing. I love these men and love reading how their relationship is developing. There are a few bumps along the road here that help to ground the story into reality because really no one's relationship can be that perfect so it's nice to see the guys have to navigate around some hurt feelings. If you like your PNR then this is a great series for you to read if you haven't already started it. You'll get a n [...]

    15. This series continues to grow on me. One thing I love about is the tremendous sense of place. I feel like I'm in Cornwall with Lee and Gideon. Another thing I love -- how their relationship deepens and becomes stronger as the series progresses. After the events at the very end of this, I'm very excited to see what come next!

    16. Another enjoyable installment a unique one ! Lee & Gideon take some time out to escape wedding pressures and the psychic stresses that Lee is under. Gideon continues to work on healing but realizes he may never return to the strength he once had. A trip away was meant to restore and revitalize these two but of course there's a twist. No spoilers should be given but may I say Kitto was sweet, just like Lee. ❤️

    17. Ok. I’m totally biased, I LOVE this series and was so excited to see a new book about Lee and Gideon! I’m just starting the book, I will say right now it’s going to be awesome. How can it not be? It’s Lee. And Gideon. Written by Harper Fox. Duh.Now, here’s my honest, non fan girl review:What a great start! Lee and Zeke (Gideon’s REALLY conservative, Minister brother), out jewelry shopping. Together. They seem to have developed an oddly friendly relationship over the last couple of bo [...]

    19. Who is the model on the cover of this book? Beautiful. Another great story from the pen of Harper Fox, number 4 in the Tyack and Frayne series. I prefer my literary sex in this genre to be vanilla in the extreme, so I was a little shocked that this time Ms. Fox pushed the boundaries.Another great paranormal story, set in the wilds of Cornwall, Gideon and Lee approach their wedding day and things start to go .weird! Gideon starts seeing things that only Lee can see, are they both now psychic?Grea [...]

    20. 3.5 starsOn one hand, I had to admit that I struggled more in this book compared to the rest. Maybe it's that 'thing', you know, Ms. Fox's choice of words or sentence structure that just doesn't click with me. Several times over I have to re-read paragraphs just to understand it.But on the other hand, I love Gideon and Lee I will say this again and again, I do like stories about established couples, because sometimes it's not just about the beginning but also about the journey throughout. I lik [...]

    21. Reading a Harper Fox book is like taking a bath in glorious language. I tend to overburden the word 'evocative' when writing about Fox's books. :) But I just can't get past how intensely she brings to life the settings of each of her stories. The negotiations between the two heroes of this book as they move even deeper into the territory of an established relationship make moving reading. But she could write about bread going stale and I'd probably find it mesmerizing!A highlighted note from the [...]

    22. Really loving this series and the way the relationship has developed between the two main characters. I want a Gideon :)

    23. Cornwall; land of Celtic legend, myth and the occasional Celtic festival. This provided the backdrop and once again Lee Tyack and Gideon Frayne find themselves in the midst of evil doings in a small Cornish village. I just LOVE this series. I LOVE Lee and Tyack. I LOVE the setting. That’s a whole lot of love going on there, but I can’t help myself when I latch onto something I love. OK, I could be bias here being a born and bred Cornishman, but Harper's powerful and evocative writing brings [...]

    24. 5 stars read for me.Oh, wow!I have to say that Kitto caught me completely by surprise since I understood that author is leaving this couple after third book. That bummed me, Lee and Gid are so great together and, lucky for us, it seems that Fox wasn't ready to let them go as well. :)Just like with previous installments, plot of Kitto is tied to a particular holiday and this time it's Golowan (cornish word for Midsummer Eve celebration), but for the first time, I actually had a feeling that this [...]

    25. I couldn't like this one as much as the first three in the series, even though I really, really wanted to.(view spoiler)[I think I started out a little put off that I'd missed getting to see them getting engaged. I know they told us about it as a flash-back, but I couldn't help feeling that I'd missed out.And the action in this one didn't enthrall me the way the previous ones had. (hide spoiler)]I still love both Gideon and Lee. I still adore them together. I still loved the setting and the writ [...]

    26. 4.5 Stars - Not sure if this is the final book in the series (hope not) but it was a slam bang way to end it if so. The mystery was well done, and Gideon and Lee were both amazing as usual. I'd love to read more of these guys and their family!

    27. Gideon and Lee are really one of the best m/m book couples I've ever met. Oh, and Harper Fox is a genius by creating them.Is there more to say? In that case, here is a good review:/review/show

    28. Love this series! 4.5 rounded downI really enjoy the supernatural and mystery aspects of these books, and it is all set in brilliant counterpoint to the lovely relationship between Gideon and Lee. Their relationship is portrayed so simply and honestly, with so many little everyday details that make me smile. It's not without bumps, but their bond is strong enough that you know they'll survive anything. My one qualm with this book, is that despite the fact that Gideon has shown again and again tha [...]
