    1. thecrreeds/search So, I think all the other reviewers probably know the author or are being paid for a favorable opinion. One thing I enjoyed about this book is that it is definitely a story based on real life. You will be reminded of people you know by the characters in the book, and it chronicles the mundane things in life that most of us have experienced in one way or another. Unfortunately the book doesn't quite know who it wants to be yet. Let's talk about characters for a moment. The main [...]

    2. This is a classic story of self-discovery that happened in time of recession where the protagonist, Jennifer Tesler, had experienced financial difficulties, joblessness, and ultimately losing her sense of self. (Surely, after nearly three years of being unemployed, who wouldn’t feel this way…given that she was a woman who had it all, was the family-bread winner, and held high-powered job in corporate Silicon Valley for the a solid fifteen years. Then, bam!, she was laid off unexpectedly. But [...]

    3. I have always loved Romina Wilcox’s work; her cybercrime novels kept me on the edge of my seat and gave me a peek into the world of Silicon Valley. I am equally impressed with her departure from cybercrime. Her new novel, Pinkslipped, is the all too realistic story of one family dealing with the loss of employment, as well as financial and emotional security, during the Great Recession. By all accounts, Jennifer and Ed Tesler lived an enviable life, with three children, a beautiful home in an [...]

    4. Let me just start off by saying that PINKSLIPPED was the first book I came across and finished by Romina Wilcox, but it most certainly will not be the last. Having just finished a few hours ago, I am left thoroughly impressed and with a new name to keep an eye on in the literary world.I think many different people, regardless of what background they come from, can easily connect to the subject matter of this book. Many of the things that the author touches on are all too real for many of us and [...]

    5. 2 StarsI received a free copy of this book from the first reads program on .I chose to read this book because I was interested in seeing someone's perspective on the current economic downturn. It was a story of a snobbish rich woman, that I could not like no matter how hard I tried, who ends up not being as rich. Some of the things in this book actually insulted me. I just wanted to slap the main character and tell her to stop wining. I mean, how can I feel bad for someone who racked up over $60 [...]

    6. I read the book "PINKSLIPPED", when I got it in exchange for an honest review. The book, written by Romina Wilcox made me think of my father and my daughter. My dad was the hardest hit in our family by the down-turned economy. My daughter and her family suffered as well when she lost her job that she had since she graduated college. Both have rebounded nicely, but not without a lot of emotional ups-and-downs, family hardships as well as soul-searching to get their lives and finances back on trac [...]

    7. Jennifer Tesler has it all. A great family, husband, and a she is at the pinnacle of her career. Then, suddenly, unexpectedly, she is Pinkslipped. I find myself absorbed to the story. How is she going to managed, especially someone like her. Throughout the story, the author shows how she is going to get interviews. Through it all, we learn how companies’ conducts their interviews and I find myself really absorb in the story. Some interviews are quirky, and some just require a lot of thinking, [...]

    8. As someone who has personally experienced the pink slip demise, this story hit close to home. Not only was the character so well written that I sat there and found myself rooting for her success non-stop, but the story was incredibly well written and compelling. The story was engaging and actually kept me on the edge of my seat surprisingly enough. This is a multifaceted story with underlying messages that touch so many people in the world right now, and gives a message of hope and perseverance. [...]
