    1. Originally, I only gave this book 4 stars. I really liked it, and I found myself thinking about it afterwards, but I wasn't ravenous to immediately re-read it.Since that first read-through until now (Jan 2015) - I've probably re-read it about 5-6 times. So I'm thinking this really needs to be a 5 star.I find that I really enjoy the Alien/Earth woman romance where the human lady is appreciated, given good lovin and has an HEA. This book has all of that. The only conflicts are the mis-communication [...]

    2. Well done Sci Fi romance. This was a human alien story. I thought at first that there was going to be serious info dumping but, even though the set up was a little clunky, the author got the info dump over with quickly and the story picked right up. I thought the set up of why Jareal was so desperate for a mate was well thought out and the alien culture was sufficiently alien to be interesting. I enjoyed the heroine even though she occasionally had some bad knee jerk reactions but at least she w [...]

    3. Thanks for the recommendation Jacqueline! This was really a great book.Elise is part of a group that has landed on a planet escaping an Earth that had been hit by meteorites. She's looking for food before she's allowed back at the compound. She goes to a stream and there sees Jarael, whose pheromones drive them drive them into each others' arms. He's a healer who is trying to make enough money for a bride that are in short supply. Now that's he's found Elise and they've had sex, he considers her [...]

    4. Elise is probably one of *the* most annoying heroines I've ever read. EVER!! I wanted to punch her in the faceoften. I wasn't even halfway through the book and considered giving it up because I didn't want her to have a happy ending!! I was convinced that she didn't deserve one, so annoying and argumentative and mercurial was she!! I couldn't finish it. I skimmed, and upon reaching the end, I was glad I hadn't "powered through" and read the whole thing. I am deeply sorry that I can't write a bet [...]

    5. This book was a little hard for me to rate There were many aspects of the novel that I liked and some others not so muchI am a sucker for feline aliens And I love alien-human romances! And I was thrilled to know this was a very well rated novel and apparently loved by many. But sadly, some details kept it from being a full 5 stars. WARNING: MARS NEEDS WOMEN/EROTICA/ROMANCE.Good points: a) The introduction to the characters and how they meet is amazing. b) The aspect of the world building wasn't h [...]

    6. A stranger in a strange land, Elise is still trying to come to terms with the difficulties attached to being a dispossessed Earthling on an alien world. By all logic, she should have been terrified when the tall, muscular, cat-like humanoid rose from the water to capture her, be he ever so fascinatingly handsome. Instead, she discovers she is unable to resist when bombarded by the potent pheromones of his desire. Unfortunately, the fires of passion can not burn eternally and the moment it's quen [...]

    7. Well, that was just interesting. I kinda liked the idea of this story, or at least I thought I did until things actually started and then I was just shaking my head through the rest. I really did not like the main character, she was very selfish in a way, and I understand where she was coming from and she had every right to act the way she did because yeah, that's pretty messed up but she didn't even try to see from his point of view, and I guess that's what really bothered me. She judged him wit [...]

    8. I wasn't expecting this story to be so funny and interesting. Miss Anjou has a very freshening style of writing. I loved her funny side, she joked where you could least expect it.Though I wish to see the HEA more than what it consists of in the book, it wasn't a deal breaker.

    9. The writing in this book was extremely addictive and I simply could not tear myself away from it. Which is how I ended up reading till 5 a.m not even realizing the time at first. The story itself was a different matter altogether. In general it was good and might have been even better if not for one detail which just happens to be a peeve of mine. I absolutely loathe conflicts based on miscommunication, but sadly it was the main reason for every dispute between the characters. “Whatever she’ [...]

    10. im going back to my second love to get me out of my current book funk. sci fi romance!! i really liked this one other than the push pull for most of the book by both the h and H at different times. both virgins and safe

    11. Interesting plot, yet I feel more details and development would have been better. Anyway, it was quite entertaining.

    12. I liked the beginning of this book, but the middle was boring. Nothing really happens, and in reality this book is just a mills & boons romance with aliens instead.

    13. I enjoyed this book pretty well. I will say upfront that if you can't stand an unrealistic lack of communication than this book is probably not for you as it's riddled with it from beginning till the end. I mean, it's almost ridiculous considering both these characters realize that they are alien to each other, literally and in terms of culture, background, personality, etc. They just can't bring themselves to be honest with each other or to even ask, "what do you mean by that, I'm not sure I un [...]

    14. 3 stars ! ENG It's an human / alien romance . The setting is rather classic in this genre : females (lioness) are too rare on Ja'rael's planet. And he's determined to find a mate and have children before it's too late for him. He's going to find an human rescapee: Elise. But it was nicely done. We get to see Elise and Ja'real point of views. I loved it because it just showed better how Ja'real was desesperate to find a mate, not just possess one but respect and adore one. We saw how his culture, [...]

    15. I'm honestly not sure why I decided to read this since the synopsis already has 2 things I'm not fond of listed in it (capturing/ kidnapping women and irresistible insta-mate-bonds), and I know I find the author rather hit and miss for my tastes. I think I shall plead temporary insanity and needing something, practically anything, to get me one step closer to completing this years book challenge.(view spoiler)[Sadly for me this quickly settled on the "miss" side. I found both the main characters [...]

    16. If I could I would give this a 3.5.The concept is a bit cliche but good: girl meets alien, love at first sight (in a way) and they're whisked away.Elise is a reasonable kind of character and if something doesn't make sense she will say so; she often gets more confident when she settles into new situations.Ja-Rael is quite an interesting character, he's an alien healer, fairly docile and considerate but if he gets angered he doesn't stay docile.I really enjoyed the first half/first two quarters o [...]

    17. I like the style of writing, this was a first for my by the author and i thought it creative and entertaining.I found myself to be hostile towards Elise often throughout the entire story. I get that she has reason to behave the way she does in the begining but she makes no attempt to understand from Ja'Raels point of view, and doesn't try to explain and make him understand from her point of view in a non hostile manner. I read another review that said that this bothers that reader as well, but s [...]

    18. This quick-paced sizzler of a romance can be finished in an afternoon. It starts out exciting and sexy with Ja'Rael finding Elise when she was hot from the heat from walking around in circles in the wood and decided to cool off on the stream. After Earth's devastation, Elise fled with other survivors to find a new home on an alien planet. She encounters Ja-Rael, a being much like her, but with distinct differences, the most prominent being his cat-like stripes and ears.Ja-Rael scarcely believes h [...]

    19. Okay, I keep trying to imaging what Ja-rael looks like with his striped downy skin. I guess if a book can make me love a lizarmand, I can like a catman too. Elise and her fellow humans survived a crash to the planet of Tor and have been living a fairly bleak life. Elise is out gathering foods when Ja-rael spots her. Ja-rael is from the planet Meeri where he works as a healer. He has come to Tor in search for a mate as females are rare on his planet. Ja-rael's pheromones send Elise into heat and [...]

    20. Short plot tease:A woman on a far away planet is a survivor after Earth died. The spacecraft landed on a scorching and somewhat hospitable planet of another advanced, but closed off race.A humanoid from a sister world has come to the planet in order to trade commodities and acquire something valuable in order to pay a bride mate fee.An accidental meeting by a river in the jungle leads to pheromones running wild, but as she wants to say goodbye he tells her they are now matedWithin the very smutt [...]

    21. I liked that there was some conflict between the two main characters, it makes the falling in love seem more natural. The heroine is also has a strong personality, (which I like since I can't stomach weak female characters) and it makes for some funny moments in the novel. Ja-Rael was really sweet, the big protective yet affectionate type.I was a little disappointed that the book started off telling the story from the perspective of both Elise and Ja-Rael only to focus entirely on Elise near the [...]

    22. It was just so bad, I couldn't even finish it. The heroine has been trying to survive on an alien planet for two years and she is STILL trying to get used to it. That doesn't make any sense. And she acts so stupidly, spoiled and conceited that she almost kills herself by using up all the water for a shower. But then she goes on and on about how selfish, needy and rude other women are but then that's exactly how she acts and maybe even worse because she feels entitled to it all since she's human [...]

    23. 3.75 stars, but rounded up to 4 for the purposes of this review. An enjoyable sci-fi romp (literally and figuratively)ORY BRIEF: Elise escaped with the others from a dying Earth to eke out a survival in the harsh world of Tor. While she is foraging in the jungle, she is found by an alien from Tor's sister planet, Meerin. Mistaken for a legendary lioness, she is taken by the Meerin, Ja-Rael to mate THOUGHTS: This has to be the best of Angelique Anjou's works. The heroine is spunky and enjoyable t [...]

    24. The story in short: Earthwoman is stranded on foreign planet and claimed by alien desperate for a female as his mate and carted off to his homeworld. Add in that every time he becomes aroused, his pheromones turn her into a brainless sex addict, and you have some funny scenes, some hot and lots of conflict between the mc'sA fun read with nice characters and some hot scenes.Just don't look for some deep meaning or overanalize it

    25. I really love this author. She has great story ideas. The characters are developed. The heroines are strong not whiny helpless women. The only thing that stops me from giving five stars is that I feel cheated with the ending. A few more pages or an epilogue about the Hero and the heroine would have been nice.

    26. Okay There was no story here and both characters were completely unlikable. When I got to the end I was like thats it? My kindle even said that I was only at 75%. But the rest was previews. And let me me not fail to mention that the epilogue didn't even include the characters who had already spent the whole story doing nothing.

    27. In keeping this short and sweet. I agree with all of the 5 star ratings. Hot Hot Hot! Touching. Exasperating at times. Love that HEA. (Happily ever after). I love romantic stories about Human/Alien relationships. I recommend this book.

    28. My only reason to cut off one star was that most of the book they were not even talking with eachother. He has left her alone for so long and his apology at the end was not enough for me. Otherwise nice read
