    1. Hurt/healing/comfort extravaganza! This is a freebie you can download over at SmashWords (many thanks J.C. Wallace!) and it was an absolute delight. Highly recommended and worth your time and attention. *dreamy sigh*

    2. OMGAnother short book i have to give five stars toWow this really had my heart in my moutheven for a short story the author still had you all tensed just as you get past a tense bitother tense bit comes along.absolutely well done J.C. Wallacex

    3. MMRG Xmas bingo week 1: Santa Hat on the coverAbuse Survivor Gets His Christmas MiracleThis story was well-written but it didn’t work for me as well as I would have liked. At Fifty-two pages, there wasn’t enough length to make the connection between the two MCs believable, one of whom had suffered brutal verbal and physical abuse from a parent and in two different relationships. Dain was very downtrodden and justifiably so. His connection with Jake felt like “insta-love. I think more pages [...]

    4. 2.5 starsThis one started out great. A lonely, formerly abused MC who will find love and get his HEA?But unfortunately everything went downhill after the MC’s meet. This was some terrible writing. This book had one of the worst insta-loves I’ve ever read. If insta-love/lust/whatever is handled well, I can be totally on board with it. But this book had some terrible dialogue. Not only is there love after one meeting, but there is thinking of love after they only said a few words to each other [...]

    5. Good grief, does this guy know how to pick losers or what?? Abused by his father and his own 'boyfriends' in later years, Dain was almost killed by a jealous ex partner, and has now practically lost the will to live until he's asked to step outside his car by a good looking cop Jake who suspects him of being under the influence. That proves to be the turning point in his lifeank God!! 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for this little freebie.

    6. A Heart-warming love story! This story started out with a bang! Towards the middle the crying was a little much. Towards the end,I realized I really don't care if a grown man or women cries but DAMN cry me a river, why don't you. This was a challenge for meif you can deal with a whole lot of crying, you will get a truly heart warming love story.

    7. Just what I wanted Santa! Hurt/Comfort galore - Daino is an abused man who needs someone to believe in him to give him strength and love. Jake's the Sheriff who gives Dain the courage. A great Christmas story!

    8. What a wonderful love story of hope. I had not thought about abuse in gay relationships before reading this book or of the impact it might have on the abused partner. Dain's story is well written and his ability to overcome his past and find true love one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

    9. Not a bad story for a short. I honestly wish it could have been longer as I was interested in both characters, especially the too good to be true sheriff. I wanted to see more depth. Also, if it had been longer the insta-lust/love could have been more drawn out, which would have made the book slightly more believable.

    10. Although Christmas is over.ank godI wanted to read something a little sweet and sexy and this book is it. I loved the two main characters, Jake is a sexy as hell sheriff whose got a heart of gold and Dain has had so much pain and loss in his life, I wanted to hug him and make it all better. When Dain and Jake first meet Dain feels a sense of security but with his past he can't believe in happily ever afters, he won't allow himself to. As the story progresses Jake learns the whole ugly truth abou [...]

    11. A very hot read on second chances. I really wished the bad guys got what they deserved. They made such a sweet couple.

    12. So rating this is a little difficult On one hand I enjoyed the cuteness of the story, the abused man and his HEA. On the other it is sooooo unrealistic and really there should have been some justice for Dain. The story is just too short. There is insta-love/lust as well. I think it is just the depth of the story if the author could expand it and add to some of the details, really fill it out it would be better. So, while I enjoyed the feels, I can't really give the story itself a high rating.

    13. I had this saved under my Christmas stories folder on my Kindle. I fancied a quick story between books, and selected this one expecting it to be a light-hearted Christmas story. Having seen the front cover now I've come on to , I can see why it wasn't quite what I was expecting. This story was actually quite heavy, covering issues of prejudice towards gay men, domestic violence and family tensions. However, I still found it to be quite an enjoyable read.

    14. Not what I was expecting from the cover! Instead of fluff and humour, I got angst and serious stuff. A good story, very condensed and thus it feels rushed. Jake and Dain have met before and felt instant attraction but Dain was then with his abusive ex and due to a bad head injury can't remember that night clearly. Jake is his knight in shining armor who doesn't leave when pushed and helps Dain conquer his self doubt and low self-esteem.4 stars

    15. This was a great, short read. Very emotional, a little sappy, but with a HEA. Dain has been abused for years, first by his father, then by his boyfriend. Now it's Christmas Eve and he's alone. Jake is the local sheriff and is immediately drawn to Dain even though Dain thinks no one can love him. This would have been great as a full-length novel.

    16. Good readGreat read with an unusual beginning. Very much a Christmas miracle going on in here. Has a very sweet and understanding sheriff with an almost broken man.Would love to see the book expanded with more in depth characters.

    17. A short Christmas read about Jake and Daino and how you can't wait for miracles to happen - you need to make your own.

    18. MC Dain has a history of past abuse; MC Jake comes riding to his salvation (so to speak). Sweet, quick and with a solid resolution.

    19. Reviewed by Jason Collett for QUEERcentric BooksIn Waiting for Snow by J.C. Wallace, Daino, also known as Dain, is at the end of his rope. It’s Christmas Eve and he’d lost his job, his boyfriend who just happened to be his boss, and his church after a horrible accident a few months earlier. After a disastrous confrontation with his homophobic father, Dain is driving home when, lost in thought, he sits through three green lights. That is when the handsome Sheriff Jake knocks on his window to che [...]

    20. Bleh. Absolutely nothing special here, and a lot that rubs me the wrong way. We have instalove, abuse thrown in for the sake of angst/broken wounded hero needing love, a love interest with zero personality/character development (literally all we know about him is he's interested in Dain), and to be honest besides the protagonist's abusive past, he didn't have a lot of personality either. It was hard to get wrapped up in the feelsyness when I felt like I didn't know them at all. Plus the author m [...]

    21. Short Christmas story that was just 'too everything' for my comfort.I thought the idea of a man who has been serially abused, hitting rock bottom and coming out the other side was a good premise - but that sort of story line probably needs a long, deep angsty story to get me fully involved.Dain was just too woe is me one minute, hot for Jake then cold for Jake, talking and not talking, hung up on Momma and church too much for me. I'm sure all these would be true but the shortness of the story me [...]

    22. A great novellaThis quick like read packs a lot of punch. I was quickly drawn into Dain, feeling every bit of his sorrow and loneliness. This book won't be for everyone though. Dan is dealing with an abusive past and a bigoted father who publicly humiliated him. Parts were hard to read, mainly because the scenes seemed so real, like I was actually witnessing his father's actions. There were a few hot scenes but to me, they were minor compared to the healing of Dain and the support he received from [...]

    23. 4-1/2 StarsSometimes we meet that one person that will change our lives in ways we never expected to find. Some might think that this little tale is about Dain, a man who needs rescuing, but it's so much more than that. I couldn't believe how much hope and love was packed into so few pages. Yes, Jake comes into Dain's life and changes it but Dain is the one who steps up and stands up for him. Jake is there to let him know that not everything and everyone is against him and gives him the support [...]

    24. I really enjoyed this Christmas story from J C Wallace. I didn't realize when I clicked on it that it isn't new, and is indeed his first story if I'm reading it correctly.I would definitely have liked MORE, as it was a little too short for me. Also, I liked how the author presented the domestic abuse that been occurring and the closure we got during the story. Dain was a very believable character, and Jake kind of was. I would really have liked to know more about Jake.I would definitely recommen [...]

    25. ***2016 has been a very unstable year. Not only have I lost favourite role models in droves, I have been into dark places more times than I could count. Yes, I experienced highlights as well but the darkness has had a big impact this year and the only way to keep it at bay was reading, mass reading, back to back books with no stopping and no reviewing. I do apologize to all the writers that I won’t be able to review their books yet but I will get to it. Promise!***
