    1. I traded my 35mm for a DSLR about 10 years ago and decided I needed a refresher on the basics. My next step is to learn my newest DSLR (manual mode) to get the shots I used to do with the 35mm. While I borrowed this book from the Kindle Unlimited library, I will likely purchase it. Thanks, Al :)

    2. Great Intro to Photography This book may not be titled correctly. It is a book that gives a great introduction to photography and was very helpful for me in learning how to use my DSLR camera. However, I don't feel like the information presented has made me a master photographer.

    3. Clear, concise and practicalPerfect for an amateur starting out photography. Easy to understand in plain language. Could not ask for anything better as a reference source of photography language.

    4. Great book to get startedThis is a great book for someone who is just starting into photography. It explains the basics in great detail and it helps understanding what amazing things can be done with ones camera.

    5. Good beginning bookI found it very informative, yet basic enough for beginners. I would recommend it for beginner's or those who might need to review some topics as they get back into photography

    6. Very informative. Highly recommend this bookI'm new to DSLRs and this book helped introduce the key fundamentals to get maximum performance out of the camera.

    7. Made things much easier to understandThe author has a solid memory of being a beginner and does an excellent job of simplifying what to me was a tad overwhelming. I had a slight understanding of what aperture, exposure and ISO were but no one has been able to make me understand how they work together until now. I will read several more titles from this author and will refer many to this book.

    8. Solid instructionSolid instructionIf you are looking for and easily understandable introduction to the most important part of photography, capturing light, then this is a good place to start. Other books I have read have been confusing, and provide far too much information to comprehend easily. This book provides the basics and let you focus on the important functions of your camera and the picture in order to get the best results.

    9. Excellent introductionI purchased this book as I was waiting on the delivery of my first DSLR. It is only a couple hours reading and very concise. By the time the camera arrived I felt like I had exponentially increased my understanding of its functions and settings, drastically improving its value to me. A worthy start to anyone's photography adventure, and a great companion to a new camera purchase.

    10. Good explanation of the basicsThis book gave a good explanation of the exposure triangle and the tradeoffs for each setting. I'd recommend it as a good starting place to understand the basics of your DSLR.

    11. Excellent, down to earth, provided several missing keysI would wholeheartedly recommend, really filled in the chain's on my foundations of the exposure triangle in a most readable and practicable manner.

    12. very helpful!!!!!I am fairly new in photography and this book help me understanding more about this important concepts .So from now on I just start two get rid of the automatic mode !!!!Next mission is working and understanding histograms!!!!

    13. Very, very basicThis was more basic than I expected, and I found myself skipping parts. I think a better title would be "Intro to" Rather than "Mastering"

    14. I found this book very helpful. Clear and concise info.if you are as confused as I was as to how all these work together, I think this book will help you.

    15. Very good readAs an amateur photographer, I found this book to be very informative and easy to follow. I will definitely be using the information on future shoots

    16. Easy intro to SLR basicsExplained in layman terms, this book is a quick and useful introduction for a beginner or an amateur who wants to refresh his basics over a long train ride.
