    1. I must be missing something really big in this book because it has a lot, and I mean a lot of 5 and 4 stars ratings. Why, I ask, the book is horrible.Nathan rescues Caitlin who had been kidnapped, tortured, abused, raped in all possible ways, and so on.The first thing that made me dislike the book is that every fucking chapter starts with Caitlin's broken semi-monologue. Actually, let me copy some here:"Hold her for me.NoHold her still.NoDon't touch me!Oh God, so much pain. I need HELP.Two of t [...]

    2. It took me a while to figure out how to write this review. There was something about this book that made me pause. It wasn't until I'd reflected on it for a while that I figured out what it was that jolted me. Over the past few years, I've been reading a lot of books written by indie authors. Incidentally, I've also found myself losing interest in reading fiction. It wasn't because the indie books I read were crap. I usually do a good job of avoiding the dreck out there. What it all boiled down [...]

    3. Holy Smokes!!! This book is completely amazing. I could not put it down. There are times when the book is a little cloudy, it's meant to be so roll with it. The relationship that develops between Nathan and Caitlin is constantly overshadowed by the ordeal Caitlin went through. Carlton pours the emotion out onto the page in a satisfying way rendering your feeling for everyone involved. It was masterful!Of course you have suspend some disbelief for how some of the things happened in hospital, but [...]

    4. Intrigue, suspense and a gut wrenching story that you can't put down. It's a straight forward story written so that you feel it all, every inch of the way, and still left wondering what really happened.Caitlin escaped from her captors, or did she? She had help from someone named Chris or so it seemed. But then Nathan just happened to be there to find her, or wasn't it a coincidence? Who did this to her? Why? How did they pick her, was it random or is there a much bigger picture? These are questi [...]

    5. See this and more at crasyaboutI got this book from the author in exchange of a review, all the thoughts here are mineThe book is just AMAZING. No other words can describe it. It is really a good work of fiction. Nothing paranormal, just one life of a girl and a boy.We all have nightmares. We're always afraid of a monster coming for us in them. But what if our nightmares are true, and the monsters in them are people? What then? The story tells us about 17 year old Caitlin Lockyer who was torture [...]

    6. I read the book from Wattpad (although I never left a comment there). And it was so intriguing, that I could spend my whole day facing my mobile phone, anticipating what would happen next. Because I had no way of knowing. The fog of mystery was thick! So, off with the book, it was amazing. It dealt with the people inside it realistically, the characters, either protagonist or antagonist (it was hard to distinguish which was which at some point), had suffered, had been traumatized, and had stood b [...]

    7. This book is original in its approach and the depth of describing what horrendous abuse does to a person in a way that the reader can relate to without being too grossed out. As we follow Caitlin from her rescue through her recovery we get to know Nathan, the other protagonist as well. The story is told from the point of view of Nathan, his role, however, continues to be mysterious, apart from the fact that he falls in love with Caitlin, whom he has promised to protect.Overall it was a slow build [...]

    8. This story is one insane mystery! It starts off with a bang, I mean just jumps right into the chaos that makes up the book. The lead character gets swept up in Caitlin's life as he saves her from something and is now in the hospital with her. She's in a coma but her nightmares keep her in a state of panic. This is a dark, gritty, well paced suspense novel. It makes you question everyone around you, but as Nathan fights to learn the truth and keep his promise made to a girl left for dead, the tru [...]

    9. Everyone reads a book for different reasons and we all have different opinions on the merit or otherwise of each book we read. I was conflicted by Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer, for a couple of reasons. The existing reviews on it swayed from 5-Star glowing reviews right through to 1-Star scathing reviews. In the end, I made the decision that the only way I was going to get a handle on it was to read it myself. In my opinion, it is neither as fantastic as some would have us believe nor is it as d [...]

    10. ** I received a free eCopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review ** Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer was a powerfully emotional read. Caitlin is a young woman who was abducted by a sadistic group of people and repeatedly tortured. She was found one night on a beach by a man named Nathan who saves her. Over the course of the next few months, Nathan becomes more than just Caitlin's rescuer. He becomes her friend. Her confidante. Her constant companion. And her protector. Natha [...]

    11. 4.5 stars!Brief synopsis: Nathan Miller becomes Caitlin Lockyer’s hero after he saves her after she was left for dead on the beach. Was it kidnap and rape, or something much bigger that turned Caitlin into a victim? Nathan’s secret torments him as he falls for Caitlin while he helps her heal both physically and mentally, never leaving her side. To make things worse, their nightmare isn’t over because the bad guys are still after Caitlin. The story unfolded quickly, sucking you right in with [...]

    12. Demelza Carlton’s ‘Nightmares’ is an exceptional piece of work. Dark and gritty, it will send shivers down your spine and slowly capture your heart as Caitlin’s Nightmares unfold. The current popularity of Supernatural and Paranormal fiction makes it very easy to forget that monsters don’t just exist in the shadows of imagination - they can be much more real. How well do you really know your neighbourhood policeman, or that nice couple across the road? That man who stopped to ask you f [...]

    13. When Nathan Miller rescues Caitlin Lockyer from certain death on a beach, he promises to protect her and not leave her side. Nathan dutifully stays with her while she lies unconscious in the hospital, helpless to alleviate Caitlin’s persistent nightmares. This, however, is only the beginning. Caitlin’s attackers are part of a group of criminals who have victimized other girls before Caitlin, and will likely do the same to future victims. Nathan is now torn between his promise to protect Cait [...]

    14. How do you pick up the pieces when you've been through hell and back? What happens when you've given up and you were ready to end it all? Suddenly, your knight in shining armor finds you and doesn't let you give up. What if the person you've believed to be your hero may not be a hero after all? This story definitely held my attention. It had me guessing from the beginning. There are many disturbing parts but it was imperative to have them so the readers can understand the horror of the situation. [...]

    15. Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer is a story able to hook its reader immediately with its ambiguity, emotion and tension. Although compelling, at times this is a difficult book to read but Demelza Carlton overcomes this by alternating Nathan and Caitlin's narratives. For the first twenty three chapters the main voice is Nathan's, his part in the story initially puzzling, yet it is clear he is more than just Caitlin's knight in shining armour. Nathan's chapters are interspersed with Caitlin's nightmar [...]

    16. Review: I have received this book as part o f a blog tour in exchange of an honest review.I’m a big fan of mystery so I was excited to read this book and, gladly, it did not disappoint me.When Nathan finds a girl on a beach covered in blood his life changes completely. He’s suddenly a suspect and to prove his innocence he will have to find out who is indeed guilty.Caitlin has gone through a lot and her story is a strong one.The relationship between Caitlin and Nathan especially intrigued me. [...]

    17. I did not really know what to expect from this book, the information given about it is very little which makes it a bit of a mystery. I was curious about it and when I finally started reading it was impossible for me to put the book away.Sometimes there were parts that were a bit unbelievable, but it's called fiction so I can't say anything about it. It's not something that's very bothering. The hospital part took a bit too long in my opinion, the first half of the book is all about Caitlin and [...]

    18. By Momma on September 13, 2013Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer was recommended to me by a friend. She said it was fantastic – she wasn’t wrong. Now I didn’t absolutely love it like she did, but I liked it quite a lot. For me the book was a slow build. Sometimes it felt like it was dragging a bit, but it actually wasn’t. It was like riding a rollercoaster to the top, the trolley inches to the top and then BAM! You are flung over the side and chaos has taken over.I felt like there was too much [...]

    19. Reality Worse Than NightmaresIn The Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer, by Demelza Carlton, the reader is drawn into the story from the very beginning. Nathan Miller saved Caitlin Lockyer from a homicidal maniac with a gun. In the process, Caitlin shot and killed the maniac, and police officers shot both Nathan and Caitlin. At the hospital, Nathan pledges to keep Caitlin safe.Suffering from a gunshot wound and horrific nightmares, Caitlin wants to be safe. With the friends of her attacker still on th [...]

    20. Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer is a high alert for all mystery lovers and for those who love a good challenge to solve a mystery. This book is so full of mystery and suspense that it grips your shoulders at every word. The book’s conclusion shocks you to the core. The answers which we are not the ones we anticipated or even imagined in our wildest hopes. The story follows a young man and a young girl and revealing anything more about the story will be a crime to anyone who reads the book. The gi [...]

    21. I received this book in exchange for a honest reviewThis is a amazing and powerful book. I did not expect that twist in the end nor did I expect Chris to have such animosity towards her brother. I mean heck all he was trying to do was protect her.As you sit and read the story and horrors Caitlyn went through you will cry and be so proud to see someone so strong. Nathan he was amazing. Did some stupid things and was guilt ridden but still had a good heart. His protectiveness is his downfall but h [...]

    22. This book had me spell-bound.From the opening the author draws the reader into the terrible nightmares of Caitlin as she struggles to come to terms with the horrific ordeal she has endured.I found her protector, Nathan, an interesting character who held my interest in wanting to understand his real role in what happened to Caitlin and the reason for his obsession with her.Their relationship is fragile yet his need to look after her is endearing. He is a very real character and I think that is a [...]

    23. This is not the kind of book I usually read, but that's a good thing. New vistas are always good for the mind. This one is a dark tale about a woman who has been horribly abused and the man who makes a commitment to be her savior, regardless of the cost. This young woman is so badly hurt by her experiences that she withdraws into her own nightmares during her coma, which occupies the first fifth of the book. Slowly, as she awakens and comes out of her cocoon, the truth about her experiences come [...]

    24. Ok so first a warning, this story is about the nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer from when she was kidnapped, raped, assaulted and abused some people may find this distressing.I found some of the dialogue a little uncomfortable however I really liked Nathan and how he would do anything to keep Caitlin safe and he promised her he would be there. Yes his job was really to find out as much as possible about Caitlin's ordeal to get these people but he genuinely cared for her.Almost every other chapter i [...]

    25. I received this book from Irresistible Reads Book Tours in exchange of an honest review.I’m always up for reading a good mystery and Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer definitely fits that description. This is an intense story and the fact it is told from Nathan’s, who doesn’t give much away, point of view made it very interesting.I really enjoyed the twists and turns and the story, especially because I wasn’t expecting most of them. I was constantly trying to guess who the guilty party was! [...]

    26. Nightmares, a dark mystery, is a thriller that keeps the reader flipping pages, with abrupt plot twists keeping the reader intrigued. Caitlin is a young kidnap victim who was subjected to unspeakable outrages. Hence her intense nightmares. Nathan Miller, her purported hero, has much to hide. The puzzling secret of her rescue and the reason for her capture are revealed with masterful craftsmanship. Caitlin's and Nathan's mystery mean that their character development is unreliable. The reader is c [...]

    27. I picked this up a couple of days ago and couldn't put it down until I turned the last page. The first chapter drew me in completely, it was instantly intriguing. So much so that I had to know more. Some of it was hazy/clouded and, as you read it's revealed why - pure genius, that's all I'm saying. The rest of the book didn't disappoint in any way. The author managed to keep me guessing on motives, involvement and even the outcome the entire time. I was wrong most of the time and perhaps that's [...]

    28. She was kidnapped, brutalized, rapedStill, Caitlin survived. In this cold tale filled with suspense, shocking truths, mystery and thrill, Nathan, the "man who saved the day" sets forth to abide by a promise made to a tiny woman, near death, on the sands of a beach.Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer is a definite page-turner that will keep you reading until the end and keep going with its sequel, "Necessary Evil". Demelza Carlton has succeeded brilliantly at blind-siding me with a few twists that I ty [...]

    29. This book is amazing. I would literally give the author a standing ovation. You can't put this book down, I know I couldn't, it makes you want to keep turning that page. I read this book in a day or two. I found out about the second book and finished that one in a day. I'm in love with this series it not funny. This author knows what she's doing. She knows the right words and the right way to make a story almost come to life. Congratulations on a book that should be award winning.

    30. I read this book on wattpad, and it was amazing! Each day I'd come home to check if there was an update. There usually was so it gave me a rush of happiness. The author really knows what she's doing. It's thrilling, exciting, twisted ( in a good way), and a great distraction from life. Now all there is to do is wait for book 2 to come out.- Obsessed bookwormAKACrazy4Curls
