    1. First off I would like to thank Ottilie Weber for the pdf version of this book.Ok so I'm not going to tell you what this book is about because other reviewers have done a great job at that already (probably even better than I could) but I will say this: This book is good read, I loved the different POV's it was a bit confusing in the beginning but once I actually got into the book I had no problem at all. Yeah there were a lot of grammatical errors but I knew what the author meant and it didn't [...]

    2. Family TiesBy: Ottilie WeberISBN: 9780982981696Available Format: Paperback, ebookPublished April 1, 2011 by Buck CountyMy Rating: ★★★★☆ (3.5 rounded up! )A long, long time ago Emma was a young German heiress with a fiery will of her own. When she was told she was to marry the arrogant, abusive Wilhelm, Emma decided to take her fate into her own hands and escape to America. Several generations later, Abby, the first female child of her great-grandmother’s line, is living her normal [...]

    3. OMG! This is officially one of my favorite books, its right up with Twilight! I loved to different POV especially the POV of Emma so when can see how it was in her situation and also so we could see the parallel between Emma and Abby. I absolutely loved the relationship between Cory and Abby and how they turned out. Very cute :). This book gets really intense at times with the kidnapping and how that situation turns out. I felt really bad for Abby and was really mad at Wilhelm! I don't want to g [...]

    4. Title: Family TiesAuthor: Ottilie WeberPublisher: Bucks County Publishing, 2011Genre: Young adult/FantasyFormat: Paperback, EbookISBN: 0982981694 Once upon a time Abby’s great-grandmother was a handful. She lived in Germany and her family was rich. It wasn’t as great as people might think though because Emma was sold off into a marriage that she didn’t want. Rather than stay and live a life sure to be torture, she runs away to America where she can be the master of her own destiny.Fast for [...]

    5. This is the story of Abby, a young girl whose family has an interesting story – and it’s about to be replayed generations later – with Abby taking the female lead. Abby’s Great-Grandmother, Emma, was a feisty character, born to a rich German family. Upon being engaged by her family to Wilhelm – an engagement she didn’t want or welcome – Emma chose instead to run away to America, and lead a very different life there. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that Wilhelm’s family forgets t [...]

    6. Abby has heard a lot about her grandmother's life and love story but she never knew that someday, she might actually get a first had account of what her great grandmother went through.Families Ties is about Abby, who until recently, led a very dull life. Working a summer job that she hated, unable to spend time with her friends at the beach. But when mystery and suspense take root in her life she begins to wonder if maybe the restaurant where she works isn't such a horrible place to spend her su [...]

    7. 'Family Ties' is the story of teenager Abby who finds out more about her family's past when she is kidnapped by strangers. The story is told through three different points of view - Abby, her best friend Cory and her great-grandmother Emma. I liked these characters almost instantly, finding them realistic and easy to sympathise with. The bad guy was a nasty piece of work and easy to hate! There were one or two moments where the characters did things that seemed unlikely but this is a minor compla [...]

    8. Enjoyable story about Abby and Cory. A bit unbelievable, but reading the author's comments see that it is meant as a fairy tale that she wrote in high school. It is exactly the type of book I would have written in high school. The chapters flip between viewpoints of three characters. My problem with this is that it was often hard to distinguish between Abby's chapters and Cory's chapters. Sweet love story and I absolutely love the cover!

    9. A wonderfully written tale of a young girl who takes everything for granted until her world is turned inexplicably upside down!Ottilie Weber has a way with writing for and about young girls -- you don't want to miss this one!

    10. A fair amount of the books here on has reviews by their authors, and I have been putting this off because I do not know how I feel about that. So here is a review of my own book? I have had a loving relationship with Fairy Tales my whole life, and when I write I'm sure that seeps into my wording. I enjoy history so I'm sure that shows up in the story as well I wrote Family Ties when I was 16 years old then when I was 20 I did a little tweeking, such as editing, adding scenes, and even a charact [...]
