    About "S. Blaise"

      • S. Blaise

S Blaise has loved reading and creating stories for as long as she can remember, but first got into the male romance genre through fan fiction She found slash and yaoi quite by accident honest and began voraciously reading stories online in many fandoms, finally getting up the courage to have a go at writing some fan fics herself before shifting to original fiction She has lived on both sides of the Atlantic and so can write about Caribbean summers as easily as Scottish winters, since she has experienced both. She loves sci fi fantasy, murder mysteries, comic books, anime, and yaoi manga, which she spends far too much money on while still having so much to get She s a creature of nocturnal habits but really wishes story ideas would stop jumping around in her mind at three in the morning when she is finally trying to sleep.

    1. Neil stops in a very small town and sees a hot lumber jack kinda guy playing pool. Now, Neil being from Britain knows how to play snooker but pool is different and a bit harder for him.Paul ( not Bunyan lol) decides to 'play' Neil and up the stakes a bit. They both are in for a surprise, neither is who the other thinks they are. It's short and light and cute, but not enough to really care about the couple or get invested in them. It has no on page sex, although quite a few innuendos and a hopeful [...]

    2. June 2 release of 2013 Daily Dose: Making a Play.Pool? Is that a sport? *shrugs* Regardless, one of the MCs gave me a dirty-old-man vibe. Didn't like this one.

    3. Appearances can be deceiving, and in this story, they deceived me more than once. The back-and-forth between the two main characters is fascinating, and they had not only each other fooled, but me as well. And I thought I was prepared!Neil seems to be a harmless British tourist in the US. he ends up in a pool bar, and thinks he can show poolshark Paul what's what. And he does. Sort of. Except then said poolshark turns the tables on him, so to speak, which made me grin. The tension between these t [...]

    4. 2.5 starsShort and fun. Nothing too serious, just a playful romp of American versus English going on here. Neil is enjoying the opportunity to drive the east coast before flying back across the Pond, and it is during one of his breaks that he stops to play a game. Paul is shooting pool and circling for a new opponent. He spies Neil and moves in.It's entertaining enough play off the differences in the two sports of pool and snooker along with some language. This is a taster size story that leaves [...]

    5. 4 HeartsReview written for MM Good Book ReviewsNeil is just getting a quiet drink when he is invited to play a game of pool, he nearly falls into a trap set by the pool hustler before he swiftly turns the tables. Paul is just pool hustling for fun, inviting the cute Brit to play also seems like fun until he is swiftly beaten and Paul then lays down a new challenge and Neil raises the stakes. But, Paul is a pool shark who always wins and Neil will have to keep his eyes open for tricks before he f [...]

    6. Neil Davis is a three time World Snooker Champion. He is traveling from New York to Florida and makes a stop over in a tiny nowhere town. In the local sports bar he spots Paul Burnwix playing pool. Paul looks like a lumberjack to Neil, due to his clothing and build.Paul challenges Neil to a game of American pool and Neil accepts. The two exchange only first names. I must say that Ms. Blaise came up with more pool and sex related innuendo than I realized existed. Some of them were quite funny, wh [...]

    7. “Snookered,” a short story by S. Blaise is a clever, humorous “meet-cute,” which defines as “a convention of screwball comedies and their heirs, the romantic comedies, the contrived encounter of two potential romantic partners in unusual or comic circumstances.”It isn’t easy creating even a satisfactory meet-cute, as most of the rom-coms referred to in the definition demonstrate, leaving the viewer groaning rather than smiling. In this story Neil Davis is from England—which usual [...]

    8. Beans: This novella is a beautiful example of when we break away from stereotypes and are able to get to know someone for them, and not what they do or who they are. Paul and Neil hit it off from the first moment. They flirt, play and set the sheets on fire. I had a different ending in my brain reading through this short novella and was pleasantly surprised with the authors version. A fun read.Nina: A lively short about assumptions and how misleading they can be. Both guys take turns setting the [...]

    9. What a great story. Loved the sexual tension created in such a very short story. Too short. Really think I could have fallen in love with these characters. We are given just enough to really want to know more and loved the surprise ending! Had not seen that coming. Awesome job!

    10. This shorty is comical and fine enough, but nothing special. I wouldn't mind reading a longer version of this storyline, because it has the potential for a good, solid longer story.

    11. Neil thinks he has it made until Paul really starts playing pool. Suckered into giving Paul a roll in the sheets, they both come up the winner. This was a cute short worth reading.
