    1. One of the greatest singers and musicians in rock history.Yes it's another "rock star" book. So it's loaded with drugs. For fans of his music, it's all about the music. You'd think a musician's story would be all about the music, too, right? But his book shows how drugs got in the way, and for him, it became all about the drugs.Truthfully one of the most talented musicians to come out of the hard rock scene of the 70's, but not really a metal guy at all.     2. If you know who Glenn Hughes is, you will not be disappointed in this autobiography. It's more of a chronicle of drug use than music . . . but it cleared many things up for me regarding his time in Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. A great read for fans of GH.


    3. As a 12-step memoir I give it 4 stars, but the ghost-writing is kind of toneless. I did read it in 2 sittings though.

    5. The writing itself was a bit all over the place but it was great to hear from one of the strongest rock vocalists. I didn't even know about Glenn Hughes' music until I first heard Black. Country Communion. What an amazing band. It's so good to hear new music from the classic rock genre. Glenn was a member of Deep Purple along with David. Coverdale of Whitesnake. Who knew?     6. Though I can't believe what Glenn subjected himself to for all those years, I am glad that he made it through to the other side.I found many parts of the book to be incredibly sad. The end result, however is a great story of how he lifted himself out of the pit of drug abuse. I really feel that this book would be a great read, not only for those looking for enlightenment in the concept of working in the music industry, but also for those looking for strength in getting out of a life of drug and [...]

The format starts with childhood stories of growing up, the inspiration to take up an instrument and the journey of starting a band. Then the timeline moves on to the vicissitudes of the ensuing success and the accompanying tales of love and lust, drugs and other debauchery leading to the darkest recesses of the subject under scrutiny; and ultimately his redemption.You would have thought that reading a Rock autobiogr [...]

    10. He Is The Music!Glenn is a Rock God among men who has stood the test of time. reading about his ups and downs, shows, simply, the kind of man he is. His music has carried me through good and bad times in my life. His Bass playing, has inspired me to want to be better at my own playing.     11. This is one of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I didn't know most of this about Glenn Hughes. The guy had it pretty bad as the flip side to his brilliant career. Bravo to him and his writing plebe Joel McIver for such an in-depth, great read.
