    1. Be careful what you wish for! Charlotte made a small wish without intending toe kind of passing thought we have every day but don't expect to ever come true. But Charlotte had received a ring through her late-aunt's will, and suddenly her small wish isn't so small anymore. Charlotte is the kind of character you have to love: quiet, kind, and a bit of a dreamer. She blends in with the drapes and hopes that someday her prince charming will actually notice her. When she suddenly becomes the most lu [...]

    2. 4.5 StarsI just have to say wow. I had really low expectations of this book by all the reviews which now leaves me absolutely puzzled. I can't see where people disliked the book. I thoroughly ENJOYED this book. I didn't want to put it down. I thought the book was well thought out in reference to the story line and I can't wait to read what happens to the rest of the characters. Maybe it was my low expectations but I really thought the plot line was refreshing from other historicals of tortured h [...]

    3. Charlotte is a shy spinster in love with Sebastian, who doesn't even know she exists. When she is left a magic ring in her aunt's will, she wishes to be the woman Sebastian loves. Boom, Charlotte is transported to an alternate universe where she spends three-quarters of the book as the courtesan Sebastian is madly in love with. Unfortunately, while in the alternate reality, both the hero and the heiress act so completely out of character that it takes an almost monumental suspension of disbelief [...]

Well, never once he did pay any attention to her.ah,,Sebastian, dia ad [...]

    5. I've been floundering for DAYS to find a novel in my vast collection that caught my eye. I am usually prone to the normal historical romance, sometimes I enjoy friends turned lover, jealous siblings, disdain turned to love. That kinda business. So I ran across this book which I had bought in a used book store for a good price and let sit for YEARS. I have a habit of this. I read the synopsis, and bored with my normal reading, had to give it a try. And let me tell you, it paid off! From the first [...]

    6. This book seemed to drag on forever and then the ending was rushed. I felt like some of the middle of the book could have been removed and more could have been added to the ending of the book to make this a better read. It was not a horrible book but I got really tired of the main characters trials as 'Lottie'.

    7. An interesting concept, though I feel like it could have been more gritty and less girly without the fairy "immortals" prancing around. Entertaining, but it was a missed opportunity for a truly gripping read.

    8. Maybe I'm a purist, but I like my historicals and my fantasies separated. I just couldn't get into this one.

    9. Loving a man who doesn't even notice you let alone remember your name is hard. Hard for the heroine to stomach knowing she's nothing at all that would interest a man like the viscount. She is neither beautiful nor rich and she is painfully shy. She's accepted her lot in life as a spinster when she receives a magical ring as her inheritance. Upon wishing she could be the woman the hero loves, she suddenly finds herself waking up in a strength room with a strange man in her bed. No, not a stranger [...]

    10. This was a pretty cute story. The heroine is in love with her best friend's older brother, who has no idea and barely even knows she exists. Our heroine inherits a magic ring from a great-aunt, makes a wish for her object of affection to fall in love with her, and wakes up in an alternate universe where she's a notorious courtesan. It's a fun premise and I enjoyed it, even though it's completely implausible and some parts had me just shaking my head.

    11. I so enjoyed this book, looking forward to reading about the next in the series. I enjoy both Historical Romance and Paranormal, and this is a wonderful blend. Please keep up the great work, have really enjoyed your books.

    12. i really wanted to like this book - but i just didn't get into it. Which was a surprise to me because normally i like e boyle's books.

    13. Historical romances hold a very special place in my heart. They are what got me started on my romance novel journey. I started with Loretta Chase's Lord of Scoundrels and the next read Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale. So, I think maybe the bar for what is good, for me, is very high. But along the way, I have discovered some really fantastic writers. From the Grand Dames of the genre or OGs, as I like to call them,Mary Balogh,Julia Quinn,Tessa Dare,Eloisa James andLisa Kleypas. I also lov [...]

    15. I enjoyed it but not a great lesson in being yourself I had a lot of fun reading the book. I actually loved reading the portion about "Lottie" more than Charlotte. She took things into her own hands and shaped her own destiny. She wasn't timid like Charlotte, but I guess that was because she was a Cyprian and could be daring. To quickly summarize, Charlotte is the heroine who is a proper timid, wallflower, bluestocking type girl who is "in love" with her best friend's older brother. He's never no [...]

    16. (3 stars for me is "It was basically okay, but eh", not "I liked it".) The premise of this is very zippy. I don't consider a premise to be a spoiler, so stop reading if you do. OKAY. Premise is that this is a historical romance with a single paranormal element: heroine inherits a ring that grants her a wish, except she doesn't realize what's going to happen until after she has wished to be the one her crush (the older brother of her friend) is in love with. Poof! The next morning she wakes up to [...]

    17. When shy Charlotte Wilmont makes a wish after one particularly devastating afternoon with her best friend Hermione Marlowe and her handsome older brother; Sebastian - Viscount Trent, she has no idea that the inherited ring she is wearing has the power to grant it, and change her life forever. When she awakes the next morning, she finds herself in quite a shocking situation, not to mention that her wish has come true.I don't really remember the synopsis that I first read for this book that made m [...]

    18. I love the idea of this book. "His Mistress By Morning" is a fantasy/regency romance which combines magic and regency manners in a rather charming matter. Unfortunately, it's not quite as good as it could be. "His Mistress By Morning" follows shy, plain Charlotte Wilmont, a girl destined to be a spinster who finds herself desperately in love with her best friend's older brother, Sebastian Marlowe, Viscount Trent. Sebastian barely knows she exists, and is nearly betrothed to a young lady of wealt [...]

    19. This is the second time I've read this charming story and it's been teasing around my mind for weeks as I remembered bits of the plot but not the title or author and kept searching and searching with each little bit I remember to learn what book it was that was tempting me to read but wouldn't reveal it's title in my memory. So happy to have rediscovered this hidden gem to enjoy again. The delightful thing about this story is the way it combines both a regency romance with just an air of fairy ta [...]

    20. Dear fellow readers,When I picked up this book, I thought the plot would be quite straightforward. A young debutante falls in love with a rake but the rake looks right through her. She then offers herself by becoming his mistress because of the undying love she felt for him. Well, in some cases, Elizabeth Boyle did fulfill the plot lines with just that and a touch of fairy dust. This was not a typical account of hero and heroine attraction amidst social standings. Instead, there was an added mag [...]

    21. This was not what I expected at all. Based on the other Elizabeth Boyle book I read, I thought this would be your standard historical romance. It’s not. There’s time travel, a fairy godmother, and a magic ring. Different, but fun.Charlotte, a shy spinster, thinks she’s in love with her best friend’s older brother, Sebastian. Even though she’s barely said a word to him and he doesn’t even remember her name, she makes a wish that he would love her. When Charlotte wakes up the next morn [...]

    22. More like 3.5* I was very frustrated with this book at the beginning; I just was not entertained or amused by the magic ring. And then the story was just so over the top that I was frustrated and considered not finishing it. However, I was charmed by Charlotte and how she dealt with the change in her life because of the wish, and by how much Sebastian really did love her. And when she undid her wish so as to not cause any pain for people she cared about I was completely won over since that was w [...]

    23. I actually enjoyed this book once I got into it. The story was all right, and the characters grew personalities as the tale went on. As happens sometimes in these "French stories" (hee hee) the author thought of a new word part way through a chapter, and then you kept seeing that word over and over again - "Made a cake of herself" is one that got repeated towards the end.You could really see the author's research into London fashions and traditions at the time, and this paid off because it made [...]

    24. A magic wishing ring gifted her by a deceased aunt, grants mousy spinster, Charlotte, the wish of her life - to be loved by the man she loves. When she wakes up the next morning, she has gotten her wish but not the way she hoped, she isn't his wife, she's his rakehell mistress who drinks, gambles, and spends more than she earns. Does she live with this or does she try to change it? This was the first in a new series with just a little magic and some awesomely vivid sex scenes to supercharge the [...]

    25. This was an unusual read for me because of the paranormal aspect. While I've loved Boyle's historical romances, she added a twist this time. Charlotte has been in love with Sebastian for years and one day she makes a wish that she could be loved by him. The next morning she wakes up as his mistress, infamous throughout the ton. While her days are filled with shopping and gaiety and her nights with Sebastian, she feels the lack of stature that being Sebastian's wife would afford her. But if she g [...]

    26. Oh, how I wish . . . How many times have we all wished for something, and then when our wish came true, we discovered our heart's desire wasn't all we expected? Elizabeth Boyle blends a touch of magic into her historical when a wish turns her heroine's world on its head. The story is witty, fast-paced, and deliciously sensual. Yet it also explores serious themes. The possibilities of character, the roads not taken, the chance that turns a lady into a wanton, a gentleman into a cad. A whole life c [...]

    27. I'm honestly only giving this one 2 stars because I was okay with the end. I don't mind someone doing something new and unique, but I really wanted to skip ahead at the beginning of the book. I didn't. I forced myself through it all only to realize that I really should have skipped a good 200 pages. Mind numbingly dull. There's some potential here, but it didn't connect with me personally. I'll brave through at least another one of her books before calling it quits. I'm hoping to find something [...]

    28. Ending my Elizabeth Boyle weekend marathon. This is an older book that I have had on my shelf and finally got around to reading. I must have read the 2nd book because it was vaguely familiar. Charlotte inherits a faery ring and makes a wish to have the man she loves, Sebastian, love her. Sebastian is the rather dull brother of her friend Hermione who has never noticed Charlotte. Needless to say the wish does not turn out the way she expected, and when she wishes herself back to the past, all has [...]

    29. I loved the concept of this book. I generally don't care for paranormal stories, but this one had just enough magic in it to make things interesting without overpowering the historical setting. The story was full of unexpected twists and turns, things that were very realistic to the heroine, being who she is, waking up and finding herself in that situation. Things could have followed a trite, fairytale path, but they didn't. I really appreciated that.I'd love to see more from this series. I like [...]

    30. Be careful what you wish forMiss Charlotte Wilmont has been in love with Sebastian Marlowe, Lord Trent, for years. Sadly, he doesn't know she exists. Charlotte inherits a ring from an elderly aunt. She wishes to be the woman that Sebastian lovesShe wakes up in an unfamiliar room with a very naked Lord Trent. Wishes can be dangerousI liked the writing and I liked the story. Quick fluff read. I am interested in reading the second book.
