    3. My favorite classical culinary reference book. This is my third one. As a former catering director, the first two disappeared out of my office! It is a 1961 Book Club Edition ! I am sure that it's been updated since, but this is great for me! This was stated to be in "good" condition, but to me, the slight wearing of the book cover just gave it character!!

    4. If there is one 'cookbook' to have, this one is it. I have read it like a novel. This is the book that taught me how to cook. Start with soups. Broth or stock is the basis for most sauces. Simple non stock based sauces add delight to the taste of food. Most of all, cooking is a simple enterprise. It is all variations on a theme. If you want to understand food, read the entries. Then go and create.
